How do you set up the Smanos S105 Alarm System?

The Smanos S105 alarm system is a simple but effective system. As soon as 1 of the sensors detects something, a 90dB siren will sound! In order to scare away burglars with this system, you will need to set it up correctly first. You'll read how to do that here.

Base station

Smanos base station

The Smanos S105's base station receives signals from the sensors over radio waves. The base station will then sound the siren to warn you about a possible burglar. Because the base station is also the siren, it's a good idea to place it somewhere that'll allow you to hear it anywhere in the house. Plug it into the socket and press the power button. You'll switch the alarm system on and off with this button, but you can also use the included remote to do this.

Sensors

Sensors for alarm systems

All sensors that are included by default have already been connected to the base station. However, it's a good idea to test them first before hanging them up. When the light on a sensor flashes once every 3 seconds, that means the battery is almost empty. You can connect a total of 40 sensors to this alarm system.

Remote

Smanos remote

You can use the remote to turn the alarm on, off, or to Home mode. You can also make the siren sound by pressing the SOS button. In order to turn on the alarm, use the button with the closed padlock icon; in order to turn it off, use the button with the open padlock icon. Home mode will activate all sensors except the motion sensor. You select Home mode by clicking the button with the home icon.

You can add an extra remote by clicking the power button on the base station once. Wait until the base station gives an audio signal twice and the lights are blinking. Next, press any button on the new remote. The base station will make a noise again to indicate that the connection was successful. If you hear 2 audio signals, this means the device has already been connected.

Window/door sensor

A window/door sensor sends a signal to the base station when the two parts of the contacts are disconnected.

You can add an extra sensor by clicking the power button on the base station once. Wait until the base station gives an audio signal twice and the lights are blinking. Next, hold the 2 parts at least 2 centimeters apart. If the base station makes a noise again, that means the sensor has been connected. Now place the 2 parts back together. If you hear 2 audio signals, this means the device has already been connected.

Motion detector

The motion sensor detects motions using infrared. The sensor is sensitive to light, which means it should be clean. Don't touch the sensor, because your fingers will leave a layer of grease.

You can add an extra motion detector by clicking the power button on the base station once. Wait until the base station gives an audio signal twice and the lights are blinking. Next, press the button on the motion detector. If the base station makes a noise again, that means the sensor has been connected. If you hear 2 audio signals, this means the device has already been connected.

Delay

If you don't want to use the remote, turn the alarm off using the base station. If the base station isn't right next to front door, it's a good idea to set a delay. That way, you won't have to sprint whenever you're coming home or leaving. The delay can be set easily:

  • press the power button twice in quick succession for a 30-second delay.
  • press the power button 3 times in quick succession for a 60-second delay.
  • press the power button 4 times in quick succession to turn off the delay again.

The delay will now also come into effect when you use the remote. Turn the alarm on without delay using the remote by pressing the button with the closed padlock icon 2 times.
