What is a smart washing machine?
A smart washing machine has functions that make washing easier. For example, a smart washing machine can have Wi-Fi, automatic detergent dosing or an extra door to add forgotten laundry in the meantime. In this video you can see what this means for you.
Washing machines with WiFi
A washing machine with WiFi is connected to your WiFi network, and you can control it wherever and whenever you want with your smartphone or tablet. You can run a cycle while you're on your way home, for example. Open the corresponding washing machine app, indicate what kind of laundry you want to wash, and start the cycle, or stay up-to-date on the cycle progress and receive a push notification as soon as your clothes are clean. This way, you'll have clean laundry when it suits you.
Automatic detergent feed
Some washing machines automatically dose detergent while washing. This way, you won't have to carefully measure and dose the detergent anymore. The washing machine measures the amount of laundry in the drum and automatically adds the detergent to the laundry. Another advantage: you'll save up to 30% of detergent each year, because you'll simply never use too much.
Add laundry later
With more and more washing machines, it's possible for you to add laundry during the washing cycle. Useful, in case you just turned on the washing machine and suddenly see some dirty socks and shirts lying around. Press the pause button, put the forgotten clothing in the washing machine and restart the program. Samsung Addwash washing machines even have an extra valve in the door that makes adding laundry even easier.
Washing with start delay
With the start delay function on your washing machine, you can easily benefit from lower off-peak rates. Put the laundry in the drum beforehand, select the right program, and indicate when you want to have clean clothes again. Some washing machines have a start delay of 24 hours. That comes in handy if you don't have time to hang your clean clothes before tomorrow.
Thanks to a series of sensors, smart washing machines know exactly what kind of laundry is in the drum. The washing machine fully adjusts the standard cycle to the specific load. This way, woolen sweaters will be given a different treatment than towels and bedding. Thanks to the load sensor, you won't use more water and energy than necessary.
