Product Expert e-readers

The Kobo Formo is the ideal e-reader to read on for long stretches of time thanks to a number of improvements. The 8-inch screen is larger than most other Kobo e-reader, but even so, the Forma weighs less than most other e-readers. Thanks to the ergonomic grip on the side, you can easily hold the Kobo for long stretches of time. The physical buttons on the grip also let you easily flip the page. Kobo has also thought about strain on your eyes, thanks to Comfortlight Pro, the backlight is automatically adjusted to your surroundings. At night, blue light is filtered so you can fall asleep more easily after reading. Want to read at the beach as well? The Kobo Forma is water resistant, so you breath easy when you bring it to the beach or pool.

"Fijn in gebruik"

By Robin on 15 September 2019

  • Pros:
    groot scherm
  • Pros:
    water dicht
  • Pros:
    batterijduur
  • Con:
    prijzig
  • Con:
    geen usb c

Goede e-reader. Duurder dan andere modellen. En geen USB-C poort, komt wel met een goede reversable micro-b kabel.

"A good product despite all its drawbacks"

By Rafael Ontivero on 11 May 2019

  • Pros:
    Big screen
  • Pros:
    Fast
  • Pros:
    Ergonomic
  • Pros:
    Can be easily home-brew hacked
  • Pros:
    Blue filter light
  • Con:
    Some light artifacts
  • Con:
    Bezel gets finger dirty easy
  • Con:
    Lacks light-sensor

Despite the fact it has some light artifacts (as all Kobo have), and the bezels gets dirty very easy with finger touch (and it is very anti aesthetic), the way this reader works is very good.

It is fast, and has a lot of options to customize the reading experience like font bolding and interlining. Other good feature is the blue filter light, that is manually adjustable or based on hours.

And if all of those customization options aren't enough, you can easily apply custom homebrew patches to extra-fine-tunning (take a look at mobileread.com website).

"Good book, bought it as upgrade from old Kindle, recommend"

By Dmytro on 15 October 2019

  • Pros:
    Good big screen
  • Pros:
    Lightweight
  • Con:
Doesn't remove white margins in PDF

The e-book is really nice. Before buying it I used an Amazon Kindle with 6 inches screen. This model is much better than my old Kindle: it has big screen, but weights less then Kindle.
The only minor disadvantage I found is lack of smart algorithm to remove white margins in PDF files. So, I have to process all my pdfs manually.
