De Misfit Shine is een dunne, waterdichte activiteitstracker die je kunt synchroniseren met je smartphone of tablet om je bewegingsvoortgang te volgen. Hierdoor wordt je gemotiveerd om gezonder te leven. De Misfit Shine stop je in je zak, draag je om de pols of bevestig je ergens op de kleding met de meegeleverde magneet. De activiteitstracker kan een aantal activiteiten bijhouden, waaronder lopen, hardlopen, zwemmen, fietsen en slapen. Met behulp van bewegingssensoren berekent hij het aantal stappen, de afgelegde afstand en het aantal verbrande calorieën. Door op de Shine te tikken kun je ook de tijd of je voortgang bekijken. Daarnaast kun je met het tikken ook aangeven dat je een bepaalde activiteit, bijvoorbeeld slapen of fietsen, gaat starten.
De Misfit Shine werkt met Apple producten vanaf iOS 6.1.3 en tablets en smartphones met Android 4.3 of hoger.

Heb het apparaat nu een paar maanden in gebruik en ben er redelijk fanatiek mee. Het is een eenvoudige accellerometer, dus verwacht geen hoge precisie vetverbranding of locatiebepaling. Ook ziet de misfit je hoogte niet. Het clipje brak snel, en ik ben redelijk bang m te verliezen. Voor de rest enorm veel plezier aan deze fraaie gadget.

Deze activitytracker motiveert om te bewegen. Tot dusver wandelen, fietsen en 'dagelijkse bezigheden' getrackt en ben er zeer content mee. De tracker registreert ook je nachtritme.
Wel had ik me niet gerealiseerd dat de Misfit in combinatie met Iphone / Ipad werkt. De misfit app werkt niet op de PC.

I have had a jawbone, Fitbit, withings and I am honestly say this is the best activity tracker I have ever gotten.
The way it works: Tracks different types of activities and there are lights in a circle show up according to your set goal.
There are so many aspects they don't mention on YouTube reviews : First of all it is very stylish and is just so elegant and timeless. Unlike the others that are really bulky.
It is also very discrete when you want it to be . You can put it anywhere. Imagine you are wearing a skin tight dress ( sorry men) and you want to track your activity but you don't want to have it on your wrist: you can just clip it to your underwear or bra and it will lay fully flat. ( misfit also has a necklace btw) Being able to wear it on any occasion really is a big plus for me - really hated the other activity trackers for that reason.
It is waterproof and I have washed 2 activity trackers in the past.
Some people complain about the tapping but that's probably because they aren't tapping with 2 fingers rather than one. I like that I can track a different activity without having to go through the app. However the app has gone through major improvements( most YouTube reviews are from ages ago) . It works in collab with lots of different apps and it tracks energy expenditure bs intake . This means that myfitnesspal can tell me the extra calories I have without having to input it myself! Finally, it also tracks sleep and i use it to compare what taking magnesium before sleeping does or when I'm stressed. Great for people who are trying to improve their lives all together.
This app also estimates your basal betabolis rate and so estimates the amount of calories you burn when you do activity ( hour by hour). Also an interesting feature.
The reviews are true when they say it's difficult to see the lights flashing to show how far you've reached your goal in bright sunlight, but you will always be able to sync it to your phone to check.
Reviews on YouTube also say the clock function is difficult to read but I disagree..furthermore, if it annoys you , you can always switch the function of on the app!
Reviews online also show it is not as accurate as the fuelband, I find it's true when I have it on my wrist and I'm doing arm intensive activities( typing, washing dishes, moving boxes) ; but I've noticed this weakness from all the other wrist activity trackers too. I just use it in my pocket or on my colar.
One thing to note is that if you do sit for long periods of times ( watching tv, studying) it will start tracking it as sleep- but you can delete that activity on the app as well.
I know this review is geared to women; my boyfriend has one and agreed with me on all these points. He can hide it when it's appropriate and show it off when he feels like it, he has been using one for over 1 year!
I doubted whether it was the best choice because of the reviews of older versions but I've had it for 4 months now and I wish I would have just started with it!
