De Marantz SR6006 is het midden-model van de Marantz SR serie. Deze 7.1 AV-receiver beschikt over 110 Watt RMS vermogen per kanaal. Het geluid van de SR6006 past zich ook nog eens aan aan de akoestische eigenschappen van je kamer dankzij Audyssey multi EQ XT+Pro dat tot 32 metingen per kalibratie neemt. Voor de echte audioliefhebber is de Marantz SR6006 voorzien van Dolby True HD & dts HD Master Audio. Met de phono-ingang worden ook vinylliefhebber niet vergeten. Video word automatisch in resolutie verhoogd naar maximaal 1080P door de Anchor Bay ABT2015 Full-HD upscaler. En de HDMI 1.4-standaard maakt de SR6006 klaar voor 3D, ARC, Deep-color en CEC. Kortom: de Marantz SR6006 is een mooi voorgegeven all-round AV-receiver door zijn connectiviteit, audio weergave in 3 zones en vertrouwde Marantz kwaliteit. Everything goes via HDMI cables. The automatic setup with the calibration mic worked like a charm. Working through the (a bit non-intuitive) setup I got it to upscale all video to 1080p and run the TV in the right mode. The automatic volume balancing works like a charm and aggressively with those loud ADs, with gently increasing the volume after that. Turn it off for the input from which you play the classical music! Automatic updates work very well, although a bit slow 20 minutes+. 2 updates since the purchase, meaning the guys are working on the thing. When choosing this model I was thinking whether to get the Denon equivalent (200e euro more expensive) however you only get video on the other 2 zones, and a few other features I do not really need. Furthermore, the Denon forum on AV forums, seems to have lots of people complaining about issues with hanging etc, and the firmware updates do not seem to come regularly. For comparison, Marantz forum is quite calm on that matter.
I have an HTPC, an UPC box, iPod, and an old DVD hidef player. All connected pretty well.
The Marantz shows as a media device on the network, and it supports AirPlay. When attaching the iPod Nano with the cable, the Marantz can actually control it, start stop, etc.
Connected 1 Sony 40" TV - works like a charm. Later on when I get a 3D one, I would use the full capabilities of the 1.4a HDMI connection.
Using it with KEF 200Watt stereo bodies. I do not need surround at the moment. Sound is warm and better than my former Onkyo, due to Audissey chips, I presume. Very low on noise, but again, I am not using the pre-amp nor bi-amp, so my setup is not so sophisticated.
The internet functions seem to work - radios, etc. It is a very rudimentary media player though - but I guess with updates, they may deliver a more sophisticated player.
The receivershop delivered on time too!

Deze receiver gekocht omdat mijn Marantz SR6004 geen 3D ondersteunde. Ik heb een TV en een beamer dus ik wilde 2 HDMI uitgangen. Marantz receivers hebben een mooi design (vind ik) en staan bekend om hun warme geluid. Deze receiver heeft een soort patrijspoortje als display. Ziet er leuk uit, maar in de praktijk is het totaal onleesbaar tenzij je er met je neus bovenop staat. Gelukkig is er een goede GUI, beter dan die de SR6004 had. Installatie met de multi-point Audyssey meetmicrofoon verliep probleemloos. Hij klinkt prima zowel bij films als CD's. Wat mij betreft een prima aankoop al had ik liever volstaan met een 3D-firmware upgrade van de SR6004 want die beviel ook al prima maar tja, die firmware upgrade is er niet. Ik heb beeldkwaliteit op 'voldoende' gescoord want ik gebruik alleen het rechtstreekse HDMI-signaal zonder beeldbewerkingen.
