I actually wanted to buy the Pioneer VSX-932, but it was not available and then opted for the 933. The only difference I think is that the latter has 2 more HDMI ports and SONOS integration. That SONOS integration cannot work independently, but requires a SONOS Connect. The integration consists of the fact that the Pioneer 'knows' via WiFi when the Sonos Connect is activated and then switches on the Pioneer and selects the correct input channel. I don't use this anymore.
For me, the amplifier was a replacement for an old 5.1 amplifier in combination with a separate Chromecast audio. Long doubted and also considered several more expensive soundbars, but ultimately went for the maximum flexibility. All my speakers and subwoofer are already wired, so I don't need wireless subwoofer or rear speakers.
The sound of the Pioneer is a big improvement compared to my old amplifier, I didn't even expect this as I was going to reuse my old speakers. But the Pioneer manages to squeeze out a much clearer and more powerful sound.
In terms of functionality, the Pioneer has everything I wanted: 7.1 Atmos/HDMI ARC/HDMI passthrough/Chromecast built-in. The Chromecast works fine and also has support for multi-room in combination with other Chromecast built-in speakers. The display also shows the artist and title of the music. Also important to me was that network standby is supported, so that the amplifier is always available to cast to. Something that, for example, the European version of the Sony STR-DN1080 does not deliver.
I've connected it to the HDMI ARC port of my Sony 4K TV and it works fine so far. I also like that the amp turns itself off after 20 inactivity. All in all, this means that I hardly ever need the Pioneer's remote control, as it turns on and off automatically and jumps to the correct channel.
There are of course also a few (small) disadvantages. I find the steps in volume very small, so you have to press the plus very often to make the sound a bit louder. Furthermore, I don't think the HDMI-CEC integration with, for example, my TV is great. If I change the volume of my TV, you can have it forwarded to the Pioneer, but this works very slowly and keeps lagging. I think this mainly has to do with HDMI-CEC, because I've also noticed that it is slow with other devices. I have now set my TV remote control so that the volume buttons simply operate the Pioneer directly instead of via the TV/HDMI-CEC.
All in all I am very satisfied with the amplifier and the functionality it provides. I also like the idea that a lot of streaming options are provided. I'm using Google Chromecast now, but maybe that will change one day and I'll have a lot of options left.
