A bread knife is a sturdy knife with a long, powerful blade with wave cut. With a bread knife you can cut hard bread crusts without crushing the bread. Also food with a hard surface and a soft inside, such as melon or pineapple, are easy to cut through. A bread knife is not suitable for cutting meat or fish.
