With a submersible pump, you can quickly pump water away from various rooms. For example, your basement or laundry room after a flood, or your pool or pond. You can use some submersible pumps only for pumping away clean water. Want to pump water with dirt, such as from the pond? Use a dirty water submersible pump. A submersible pump with a float switch or water sensor automatically turns on and off when the water reaches your chosen height. Many submersible pumps also have a flat suction. This allows you to pump out water up to about 1mm high, so all you have to do is mop.
