As a loyal Apple fan, this was about the only device I didn't have at home. I purchased the HomePod as a speaker for the desk. I was aware that playing Spotify had to be done with some detours. After all, Apple wants to promote its own Apple Music. In theory, you can play Spotify, but it is a hassle. However, what bothers me the most is the HomePod's responsiveness. Each action takes quite a bit of time, including adjusting volume, changing songs, etc. Sometimes the HomePod doesn't even respond at all. The sound is ok, but there are much better speakers for this price category. I really expected much more from Apple…
Unfortunately, the HomePod does not work smoothly and, unlike other Apple products, does not feel intuitive. This ensures little 'fun' when using the device. Instead, it tends to create a sense of frustration… If you're looking for an affordable hub for HomeKit, the HomePod might be worth considering. For the rest, however, the HomePod is not recommended at all. In any case, my HomePod has already been returned to Coolblue.
