I had the opportunity to test the Roomba Max 705.
It came neatly packaged in a sturdy box.
Personally, I think the Roomba looks great. Installing it via the app wasn't entirely smooth, but maybe I was rushing things. I had maps made of the downstairs and upstairs floors, which looked very good. You do need to place the docking station on the floor you want to clean, as it will empty and rinse the mop in between. You can also easily specify which rooms you want cleaned and which you don't.
On our tile floor, there were streaks all over it, even after it had passed over it several times. This wasn't noticeable on the PVC floor, but it did leave a lot of water behind. It did dry up, but it wasn't pleasant.
I've had it several times where it would go 30 centimeters out of its station, then stop and indicate it can't enter the room. It also sometimes sees obstacles that aren't there and returns to its station. Why it does this is a big question for me. But this does mean I can't rely on it. It's disappointing that you come home thinking you have a clean floor only to find it hasn't done it.
It vacuums well, but when it empties itself, it makes a lot of noise. You can hear the robot clearly when it's working, but I didn't find it bothersome. The mop does clean the floor well; you're shocked by how the water looks. It cleans neatly along the baseboards with its excellent mop. The great thing about this machine is that you don't have to constantly refill or empty the water. It does take a while to vacuum and mop, but if it's done properly, that's not a problem.
