The GoPro HERO 13 is a robust action camera with which I film razor-sharp action images. It is even more versatile in use than its predecessors due to the new accessories, such as different lenses. I do find it a pity that these accessories are not included as standard.
Powerful action camera
As I am used to from GoPro, I make razor-sharp video images with the HERO 13. I find the image stabilization particularly impressive. For example, when I film on my bike, I see that the camera on the handlebars vibrates a lot. Fortunately, I do not see any of this in the images taken. The camera stabilizes very well, which makes the images look very smooth. When I film in the dark, I do see noise in the images. This is why I prefer to use the camera in sufficient daylight.
Long battery life
A major advantage of the HERO 13 is the improved battery life. In 5.3K resolution I film for a maximum of 1.5 hours until the battery is empty. For me, this is enough for most activities, such as a walk. Great, because I don't always have to take a spare battery with me. If I take the GoPro to the ski slopes this winter, I'll put an extra battery in my bag. The battery runs out a bit faster in cold conditions.
Magnetic attachment
New is the magnetic attachment for all your mounts. I think this works very easily. I click the attachment onto the camera and attach the mount to it with a thumbscrew. It is firmly attached to the camera and cannot fall off. If I don't need a mount for a while, I can easily remove the magnetic attachment from the camera. This way I can switch between mounts very quickly. It is only included with the HERO 13 Creator Edition, otherwise you have to buy it separately.
Lenses and filters
I am testing the GoPro Ultra Wide Lens Mod, Macro Lens Mod and the ND filter set. These accessories all have their own usage situation. For example, I find the wide-angle lens useful when I film a wide landscape. I really get a lot more in the picture with this lens. With the Macro Lens Mod I can capture details razor-sharp. I find this especially useful for close-up shots, such as when I'm showing products. I use the ND filter set on sunny days. These filters do exactly what they're supposed to do, which is reduce the amount of light. This makes my images look much less overexposed. With the different lenses and filters, I add many more use cases to the GoPro, which is why I use it more often.
