I did not purchase this Philips DAB+ clock radio 1x (at an online shop), not 2x (at a physical store), but 3x (again online shop). And just as many times I have corresponded with Philips (and the stores) about a defect in the device. At all three. Â“A donkey generally doesn't hit the same stone twiceÂ”, you might say. So I do that 3 times. The reason for my persistence was that I was initially very happy with my purchase. In my opinion: nice device, clear display, easy to operate, nice sound and a completely interference-free reception of the DAB radio stations. No more problems with Â“With an eye to tomorrowÂ”, what a luxury. ButÂ… there is a serious flaw in the device. Presumably in the software. For the enthusiasts: all three had software version dab-mmi-FS2027-0000-0349-V4.2.11.EX16100-27. All the above qualities of the device work perfectly if you leave the factory settings intact. But as soon as you start adjusting (some) settings via the menu, it goes wrong. My adjustments were:

The volume of the alarm (last listened DAB radio station) was too loud for me. Stand maximum. I set this to about of the maximum, so I wouldn't wake the neighbors too.
The list of DAB+ stations also contained invalid stations. I have removed this with the Â“pruneÂ” function. After this I turned on sleep timer (DAB radio starts playing) and the alarm On (button on top of the device). As a result, the radio turns off. And a short while later the radio comes on again with increasing volume. The alarm symbol flashes in the display. The Zzzz (symbol for sleeptime) disappears. In other words: he will perform the alarm function almost immediately. After the alarm time (which was set to 30 minutes) the radio switches off. The next morning the alarm does not go off again. There are several ways to turn on the radio and/or the alarm. But in all ways (and the order in which) the problem occurs. Only when I reset the factory settings and made no settings changes did the clock radio function properly again. So: Do you use the clock radio to fall asleep without setting the alarm: fine. If you only use the clock radio as an alarm clock and don't switch on the radio before going to sleep: also fine. But if you want both after you've adjusted some settings, it goes wrong. Unfortunately, I cannot therefore recommend this device. And if you already have it: do the above test and check whether your copy also has this error. After all, you have a two-year warranty.
