According to our smartwatch expert
The Polar M400 recognizes moments of long inactivity and motivates you to exercise. During your workout, you'll know everything about your speed, pace, distance, route, and altitude thanks to the integrated GPS receiver. The Polar also keeps track of your set goals, so you know whether you're heading in the right direction. Would you like some variety in your runs rather than the same route very time? Try new routes and always get home safe thanks to the Back-to-Start function. Back at the dining table, you can analyze your performance via the Polar Flow app. After such a stellar performance you can finally go to bed. Did you know? The M400 even keeps track of your sleep pattern for you.
The USB plug must be cleaned after each workout so there will be no defect. After your workout, rinse the USB port with lukewarm water and let it dry. Is the USB plug still damp? If so, don't charge the device. The watches come without a rubber cover on purpose: the Polar stays waterproof.

After long doubts about which sports watch or activity tracker I was going to take, I opted for this Polar. Decisive was the fact that this is a very extensive sports watch, online you can adjust just about everything (less on the watch itself). For example, there is a menu "sport profiles" where you can add different sports that you practice. In addition, you can adjust almost every screen: how you want to see the time/date on your watch every day, which data you want to see during which training (eg heart rate, speed, ...). What was also very important to me is that during the training you can keep an eye on which heart rate zone you are in and what % of the time you have been running in which heart rate zone and speed zone. You can also do a fitness test on a regular basis, which measures your condition. Nice feature to check whether your condition has really improved.
Once at home, you can synchronize the data with your smartphone via Bluetooth or via a USB cable with your PC (data will then automatically end up on the other source). That way you can view your training in even more detail. You can also charge the watch via the PC. I haven't had to do this much yet, because the watch can easily last 2 weeks (daily use + about 3 training sessions per week).
A nice side effect is that the watch also stores your daily movements: how long you sit, how long you stand, how many steps you take. You can choose to turn on an "inactivity notification", then it will beep if you sit still for too long. Very motivating to get that activity bar as full as possible! In addition, it is also just a beautiful and comfortable watch (also for women). In general, it registers your number of steps very accurately, only inside the house it can sometimes not find a GPS signal (but that depends on the house rather than the watch).

After a long search for a GPS watch that was not too expensive and yet has a lot to offer, I finally ended up with the Polar M400. And I am very satisfied with it.
GPS Accuracy: The GPS is very accurate, so your distance and speed are also accurate. (see photos) However, a downside is that finding the GPS signal sometimes takes a while. However, I solved this by hanging the watch on the door handle when I change clothes to go cycling or walking and have it searched for GPS. It is important that your watch has found the GPS signal before you leave, otherwise your lines will not be accurate at all in the beginning.
Display: What I think is fantastic is that you can see a lot of data at the same time, so you don't have to switch to another screen every time you walk. You can see your heart rate, distance, average speed and time on 1 screen. But if you want to see less, you can also choose a different screen.
Strava: you can also upload your routes to strava. Which was also important to me because I use strava often. You just have to go to polarflow upload your ride then export the ride and download it back via strava. All of which is very simple, but requires your computer.
Polarflow: is a very handy app where you can see your routes and how much you moved (sitting, lying, walking, running) throughout the day.
Sports: The polar M400 is suitable for walking, cycling and fitness. I only use it for walking and cycling and it works perfectly. I haven't tried fitness yet. With cycling you can also see how many km/h you are cycling and your average speed.
Watch: I chose the black Polar M400 because black gets dirty less quickly and seems smaller than the white one. I have a narrow wrist and the polar is slightly larger, but compared to other watches that I have tried, it is very pleasant on the wrist. If you want a watch with GPS and so many options, you won't find a smaller one.
Heart rate monitor: very comfortable and accurate. Since I train with a heart rate monitor, I can walk much longer because I don't run too fast.
Charging: I think this is a minus point that you can only charge via computer, you can't order an adapter either. For people who have lost their cable or want a 2nd one (for example if they have 2 accommodation places) they can buy a micro usb cable and it works perfectly to charge the polar (and costs around 10 euros)
I am very satisfied with it and have already had a lot of fun with it. I definitely recommend him.

Great watch for everyday wear. Keep track of daily movement and set a target every day. Various sports can be created via the site and these can be easily synchronized after exercise in order to monitor the progress per sport, or in total. Unfortunately, there is no app for android at the moment, but it will probably be available next week.
