Introduction:
I bought the Z60 at the time because I was ready for an upgrade. For this I used 20 year old headphones of which I can't remember the brand. However, I no longer have the headset! After almost one year, the cable broke through his own fault (driving over the cable with the office chair). Because of this I only had sound on one side which is of course not pleasant. The cool employees at Coolblue gave me a voucher of €100 (the value of the headset at the time) and I was allowed to choose a new one. Unfortunately, this headset had been discontinued and I couldn't choose it again. As a replacement, I went for a Kingston Hyper X Cloud II, which I still use with complete satisfaction. Now I was looking through my order list today, and to my surprise the headset was available again! Hence the reason to write this review. Unfortunately I can't name all the topics you might want to read, because I simply don't remember what I thought of them. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures either. Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy reading this review! Enjoy reading!
Comfort:
I remember the Z60 as an extremely comfortable headset that I have worn a lot. My ears fit perfectly in the earcups of the Z60! I also liked that the ear cups were made of fabric, instead of leather. Please note: If possible, try leather ear cups and fabric ear cups side by side so that you can decide what you like best. Cloth ear cups can easily catch things like hair, but leather ear cups make your ears sweat faster.
Sound quality:
As far as I can remember, the sound quality was fine and you had the nice presence of a 7.1 Surround Sound feature, with which you knew exactly from which angle which shot came!
The control box (the sound controller):
The case is made of quite cheap plastic, which I personally don't like very much on a headset of this price. What I really liked was that I could control the volume of, for example, Skype separately from the computer volume. This is more convenient than you may think, especially if your friends often have their microphones set too loud or too soft! Furthermore, the normal volume could of course be adjusted here, and the microphone could also be turned off (muted). Here was also the button to activate the 7.1 Surround Sound mode. There was also a button here to switch between different modes, namely: Games, Movies and Music. The sound will then be adjusted based on the mode the headset is in. It was also very nice that the cable could be removed from the box, so that the headset can also be used with a mobile phone, for example. Many headsets with USB nowadays have this, but it is very nice.
The cable:
As you could read in the introduction, I have had bad experiences with the cable. The cable wasn't very long, which made it difficult to use the headset when I was racing in my PlaySeat. Also, this one broke too. I treated the cable of my Hyper X Cloud II headset the same, and it still hasn't broken after 1 year and 7 months. Note that that cable is ''braded'', so with a layer of fabric around it made more sturdy.
Stability issues:
I often had that if I changed something in my sound settings in Windows that I had to reconnect the entire headset to my PC and that is of course very annoying. I'm not sure what caused this, but I didn't experience these issues with my Hyper X Cloud II. So be warned! I don't know if this counts for every Z60.
Conclusion:
This was a great headset that I was very happy with. It's a pity that the cable broke (by my own fault), and that I had problems with stability, but if you can live with that I highly recommend this headset!
Thank you very much for reading and I sincerely hope I helped you with your choice!

First of all, what is the Turtle Beach Z60 intended for, basically only the PC and MAC.
I tried it on the PC, with the 7.1 DTS experience, both music, movie and gaming. Now that I'm typing this review, I listen to music via youtube and this sounds very nice.
GAMING: I've tried gaming with this headset with COD AW, and it's really really good, it sounds like you're right in the middle of it. I must say that what you read in most reviews about the mid and high tones, that this is correct. These mids and highs are sometimes just "just" too weak.
MUSIC: Sounds very good but only with DFX, in my opinion. *DFX see below.
Bass is good, but could be a bit heavier in my opinion, but I also like bass. On the "music" setting, the mids and highs seem to come out a little better, but a bit dull.
MOVIES: I tried this one with dawn of the planet of the apes, the beginning part with hunting the deer. This really sounds like you're walking through it. The background noises make it exciting and impressive even on the third look. In the setting "movies", here too I find the bass a bit low and here you notice that the voices of people sometimes sound a bit further than expected.
Comfort: Fits well, even for a longer period of time, no pain to ears, the cushions are also quite large. The padding on the headrest could have been a little thicker, but it's not very annoying.
Design: Yes, this depends on everyone's opinion, but I don't find this very exciting myself.
Ease of use: Plug it in and it works. But if you want it to work properly, I recommend this: DFX audio enhancer: (http://www.fxsound.com/dfx/) This ensures that you can adjust the bass, fidelity, ambiance, surround and volume. You can boost the volume a bit, but I would be careful with this because otherwise you might blow up the speakers. The bass can be increased with this and by increasing fidelity, the voices come out a bit better. Not to sell this product, but this is the only one I could find that helped.
All in all, I recommend the headset in combination with DFX! This is also a good headset as a stereo headset via the jack plug without the "external" sound card.

Review on Turtle Beach Ear Force Z60 DTS
To start at the very beginning: -The package from Coolblue Ordered yesterday and already delivered today, wow what a service! Also, the headset was well packed with air cushions, this way nothing could happen to it.
When I unpacked my package from Coolblue, my eye immediately fell on the beautiful box of the Turtle Beach. A piece that makes the product attractive and gives it a good appearance. The contents of the box look like this (see also the photos):
booklets (warranty, Quick start, etc.) and stickers.
Control Unit.
When you hold the Turtle Beach in your hands for the first time, you immediately notice that it is a piece of quality. Compared to other headsets, this one feels sturdy. The headset is also very light in weight, which makes it very comfortable on your head. The ear cushions are made of soft fabric and they are large enough to cover your entire ears (see photos). Ambient sounds therefore do not bother you with this headset, which is very pleasant when gaming, for example. What is also nice about this Turtle Beach is that you can turn both ear cups a quarter turn (see photos), so it is also easy to put away under your monitor, for example.
-Experience/Testing: After receiving my order, I immediately started testing it. I have to say: what a great thing to say! I am satisfied in every way!
-Sound: The sound that comes out of this headset with the 7.1 surround is really great! With shooters you hear exactly where your enemy is walking. If your enemy is walking behind you, you will actually hear him behind you and you almost want to turn around on your desk chair. There is a good bass in the sound and the mid/hi tones are also good. Some people say that the bass sounds a bit dull, but I don't notice that (?) The sound can be tuned well to what you're performing on your computer, I'll get to that in a moment.
-Microphone: The noise canceling microphone is a perfect addition to this headset. The noise reduction allows my friends to hear me clearly without any noise. The voice is clear and intelligible. The nice thing is that you can remove the microphone from the headset. If you also remove the Sound Control Unit, you are left with a cable with a 3.5 mm mini-jack and you can therefore also listen to music on, for example: mobile, tablet, etc. This is nice compared to other headsets that almost all require a fixed power supply to be able to use them. Furthermore, the microphone is easily adjustable and therefore easy to aim at your mouth.
-Sound Control Unit The Sound Control Unit has a few useful functions (see photo):
-Wearing comfort The soft fabric on the headset makes it comfortable to wear. After 3 hours of gaming, no sweat ears and no headaches either. So light that you sometimes forget you have a headset on. Furthermore, it is easy to adjust, so that it fits well on every head. This Turtle Beach is also not tight around the head. With other headsets I've had, it's like your head was being squeezed. Definitely not the case with this one!
-Installation I can be very brief about this: USB -> Computer -> And you're done! There are a few more steps in the Quick Start Guide to optimize your sound. Within 2 minutes I was able to use this headset. You don't need any software either. He installs the drivers of the headset automatically when you plug in the headset for the first time, it couldn't be easier.
Conclusion: I am very satisfied with my purchase! For my use (gaming and movies) this Turtle Beach is more than perfect. Good sound, a good microphone and a great fit! In short: Top thing! Definitely no regrets, highly recommended!
