I've had the Bose Soundtouch 10 for a few weeks now, and I've also compared it with my in-laws' SONOS play:3 (not in the same room btw). What's great about the Bose are the hardware buttons. So you don't have to grab a tablet / smartphone every time you want some music as background. It is also useful with 'others' who are in our house, babysitters / cleaning / parents etc., because they do not have to learn how to choose music with a tablet, but just press 1 for Sky radio and they have case of background music. This is a big advantage compared to the SONOS series. The remote control is also great for quickly muting (during a phone call, for example), by using the play/pause button.
With regard to sound quality, I think this small box is really ideal for the room where we have it (+/- 30M2), just good.
In terms of App integration, I already like the Bose app better than what I've seen with SONOS. Not because the Bose app itself is great, but it does what it's supposed to do. And that is linking radio stations and playlists to the hardware buttons. I also search for music via Spotify and that works flawlessly. (I don't have much experience with the SONOS app, though, so I may have something to learn there.)
I bought this Bose partly because of the different connections, but with the radio stations and Spotify I have not needed it yet. Maybe if you take it to a place without (fast) internet, this functionality will come into its own, but not yet.
In terms of design, I find it slightly less sleek than SONOS. It's not ugly, but since the SONOS play:1 is the big competitor, you're going to compare.
