According to our earbuds expert
The Sony MDR-XB50BS are workout earbuds with ear hooks. The ear hooks ensure a firm fit, so they'll stay in your ears and won't fall out. You can easily stream your music via Bluetooth and, if your smartphone supports NFC, the connection can be made within seconds. The earbuds are splash proof, so you can wear them when you're running in the rain. There are buttons on the earbuds to control your music, so you don't have to grab your phone. The battery lasts up to 8.5 hours. When it's empty, you can charge it with the included micro USB cable.

These are my first bluetooth earphones and I must say that they live up to its name as extra bass earphones. The bass is decent and very clean. The sound in general is of a good standard but if I may be critical maybe a bit too dull. The sound is slightly clearer on my regular headset. Still, it's pleasant to listen to and they don't hurt the ears like some cheap earphones.
The wearing comfort is good. In the beginning I did not find it so easy to insert the earphones. I solved that by removing the protrusions (it's very easy). Those protrusions ensure that the ears are very firmly, you can pull them and they do not come out, but I found this a bit annoying when inserting and therefore I disassembled them. Even without those protrusions, the ears are still firmly in place.
I didn't hang the cable behind my neck but in front of it. This way the cable won't chafe around your neck, especially if you're wearing clothes. Thanks to the flexible and short intermediate cable, you can simply leave it hanging in front of you. With some more expensive models, the intermediate cable also serves as a battery and then you have to place the cable behind your neck.
Bluetooth connection is flawless. I can (almost) go through my entire apartment and still be connected. Going to the kitchen or something is no problem. Not once did the connection drop. There is absolutely no delay at all. Everything is synchronized.
You can adjust the volume via the right earpiece. Switching on/off, dialing the next song and charging via micro USB is also done here.
The battery lasts a long time. I estimate about 7 hours. Charging takes about 2 hours. The micro USB cable is included, but the charger is not. Not a big deal because I have a lot of them laying around here and that works too.
In short, these are fine earphones with good sound and good bass.

The Sony MDR-XB50BS Headphone is very user-friendly and functional.
I mainly use it at home, on the bike, during sports and on the plane to listen to music but also to make calls.
User friendly: The headphones are easy to use. The on/off button is in the right place and quickly switches the device on/off. It is also easy to switch from the previous/next track.
Placing the earphones goes well after the 3rd time.
Functional: The headphones are very functional. Due to the wireless nature, I have a lot of freedom of movement, so I can go anywhere with this.
Sound: The quality of the sound when playing music and calling is very pure and in good balance.
Points of improvement: I don't think the 2.5 hours of battery life is enough. I would like a minimum of 5 hours to charge less with longer use.
The look on the face I do not find charming and sophisticated. For example, I would not quickly use the headphone in the city center when shopping.
The cable in the neck that connects the 2 ears sometimes shifts position. A stable location of this can easily be realized by placing a sleeve in the width of the neck around the cable.

I have owned the Sony MDR-XB50BS headphones for a few days now. I was ready for the “next generation” headphones and had my eye on Sony MDR-XB50BS. The commissioning is self-evident and functionality simple. Follow the included installation instruction and you can connect the Sony MDR-XB50BS to any Bluetooth device in the house. Too bad the Sony doesn't automatically select the device that emits a Bluetooth audio signal. You must always actively connect to the device that you want to listen to with the headset. On the other hand, it is not difficult because there are only two buttons on it. On/Off and Louder/Softer. They only select a function by holding them longer or shorter. Unfortunately I missed the On/Off button after 3 days. I found it by accident and found that it had been installed carelessly. I've re-installed it and now it's fully functional again. A small mistake, but easily repaired. The sound quality is good. The basses come through well. The sound is clear. The fit can be optimized. The packaging contains different earplug sizes and clamps for the ear cup so that a suitable combination can always be made to optimally place the in-ear plugs. The earsets are light and have a pleasant wearing comfort. I mainly use the headset for listening to music on the computer and tablet. Music on the phone is also good, only making a phone call is a bit disappointing. The reception is excellent. Even at a great distance from the telephone (I estimate at least 15 meters), only the microphone on the headset does not seem to work optimally because my conversation partner kept asking to speak louder. It didn't matter whether I was near or far from the phone.
