I have used it to whitewash masonry walls with latex. It really didn't work the 1st time. After some fiddling and tweaking, it worked reasonably well. Main points of attention for the latex:

dilute really well (first in the bucket, then in the reservoir with the yellow attachment)
tape really well on all sides, spray will pass at least 10 cm where you want to spray
once you start spraying you don't have to stop until the reservoir is empty (or your wall is ready) because then the paint comes out of the sprayer, runs out over the reservoir and clogs the spray holes.
Clean thoroughly after use and rinse with water to prevent blockages.
if you spray white over white you don't see where you are, you really have to work by feeling but first you have to gain experience how fast you have to move and how you hit everything. Otherwise you will quickly spray on too much paint with the risk of drips and excessive consumption.
