As an avid computer user, I've always had a love/hate relationship with Apple. On the one hand, I curse them because they don't provide me with the expandability options that I do with PCs, and on the other hand, they don't exactly make me happy with the rather hefty price tag that sticks to all their products. So for a long time I managed to keep my distance from their offer. Well before the moment when Steve Jobs announced the iPhone, and later the Ipad - and with that literally turned the world upside down - I went for an ax for an Apple product, namely the Ipod Classic. There was simply no device among the competitors that could compete with the possibilities and quality of this mp3/video player. He also looked gorgeous. After all these years, it still works every day to my complete satisfaction, and the built-in battery still works fine. When Apple introduced the iPad to the market, I started to itch. Even then I managed to hold off the boat (temporarily) ... until the introduction of the Ipad 3, which for the first time had a phenomenally sharp screen, called retina. I was sold ! In the meantime I have had an Ipad air 2 64 gb for several years, because on the one hand I experienced the 16 gb of the Ipad 3 as a straightjacket (I do an incredible amount of things with that tablet) and because the speed of the processor, the lower weight of the very slim device, and the improved, laminated screen turned out to be the next logical step in/to my total experience. Meanwhile, my older iPad is doing its rounds daily to the full satisfaction of its new owner, my wife. Here too, this device has not lost anything in terms of battery capacity and screen quality. For a long time, since my first retina experience, the iPad has taken over most of my PC's tasks, especially when it comes to consuming information (surfing the internet, reading books and comics, watching YouTube movies and other multimedia material, doing banking transactions, shopping online, and so on. last but not least, the occasional gaming, where the ipad can hold its own compared to game consoles and PC games.) To a lesser extent, but quite frequently, I also use it to write articles and blogs...it's just so easy to get started immediately and without waiting times. Only for the heavier "muscle" work - I am thinking here of video editing among other things - I still reach for the PC, because until now the "processing power" to do this on the iPad was lacking. With the arrival of the previous iPad Pro, that has changed. It was offered in the standard 9.6 inch, as well as for the first time in the very large-looking 12.9 inch format. After recovering from my initial shock / amazement, I decided again to stick with my now familiar Ipad Air 2, which I use every day, and I'm not exaggerating, between 7 and 8 hours. I found the 12.9-inch Ipad pro, although impeccably beautiful in terms of screen, physically too intimidatingly large and, above all, impractical to take it everywhere. In the meantime we are another year further, and although I had the idea by now that there is still little to improve on the tablet concept, Apple surprisingly comes out with a newer iPad, namely a 10.5 inch model. This iPad Pro not only surprises with its larger screen in a slightly larger housing, but also on many other points. That larger screen offers just that extra eye comfort and work surface to be able to work more smoothly and luxuriously, on the other hand, the device remains compact and manageable. Couple this with the new 120 hz refresh rate, which offers unparalleled smoothness to scrolling through icons and screen content... there is absolutely no more hiccups. The screen is of course laminated, and even more anti-glare than its predecessor, which prevents annoying reflections. Until recently, it was quite difficult to comfortably view your screen content outside in the sunlight. This was immediately one of the sales arguments in favor of e-ink readers, to be able to read books outside. Meanwhile, Apple has upped the screen brightness to a very outstanding 600 Nits, removing the limitations of previous screens. The narrower screen edges laterally - in portrait mode - not only look nicer, but are also partly responsible for the larger screen surface in a barely larger housing. The fact that the thumbs must / can rest on the screen - and can therefore cause unintentional screen actions - is perfectly overcome by a technical trick. The device detects itself whether you make a conscious selection or not. Numerous improvements have also been made under the hood, including a now very powerful processor, which is in no way inferior to PCs and laptops, and now also enables labour-intensive tasks such as video editing. The latter is particularly useful, given that you can also make 4K movies with this iPad. Some believe that you should not use a tablet to film and photograph with it if necessary. Just let this iPad - as icing on the cake - also have the sublimely good hardware on board (the same as the iPhone 7!!) to shoot beautiful photos and films, and you immediately feel like taking pictures with it to go make. "Why grumble when you just get it" I say...and as an amateur photographer I am completely happy with the beautiful results. HDR is also one of the properties, which guarantees a unique color experience and fidelity (a photoshoppers dream). Link to this the automatic adjustment of the screen to the ambient lighting, and you therefore always look at an optimal display of the screen material. I was just talking about the Ipod and mp3... meanwhile, after all these years, many use their iphones and ipads as audio players. The quality was already very good, but since the Ipad Pro, 2 extra speakers (4 in total) provide an even better sound experience and stereo channel separation. Fortunately, Apple has chosen to keep the 3.5 inch headphone jack with these new iPads, something that will be welcomed by most of us. This brings me to the expandability options. They are, as we are used to, rather scanty. There is actually only 1 connection, and that should serve to charge the tablet, and to connect any pricey dongles. New is the feature to charge this tablet faster (USB-C compatible), but the charger for this can be purchased separately, only a standard charger with Lightning to USB cable is included. Since it is a Pro tablet, it is also possible to magnetically connect an optional keyboard, which also functions as a protective cover. The artistically inclined can also use the famous Apple pen, known to us from the previous pro generation. The use of this pen is phenomenally improved thanks to the 120 Hz refresh rate - the response of the pen strokes on the screen is almost immediate - and indistinguishable from the natural “pen on paper” experience. Of course, these accessories have the usual Apple price tag.
And now the memory issue. As standard, this iPad is now supplied with at least 64 GB, which already offers a lot of capacity. Since this is a very professional and powerful tablet, everyone has to decide for themselves whether this is sufficient. The next expansion is immediately 256 GB, an intermediate step of 128 GB is not possible, and the highest configuration is 512 GB ... for that you will immediately lose 200 € extra. Although the new Ipad Pro 10.5 is only minimally larger than the 9.6 version in terms of housing, the difference is still noticeable, with the result that earlier covers and keyboards do not fit (or badly) ... so here it is again in the grope pouch.
Conclusion:
With this new iPad 10.5, Apple has launched a groundbreaking device that has no equal in terms of specifications and equipment among the competition. The possibilities and power are so phenomenal that you just have to wait for the new iOS 11 to be able to use them to the full, including multitasking. (for now, the device comes with IOS 10...the automatic update will follow in September..) Despite the much more powerful CPU and graphics processor, Apple has managed to maintain, and even exceed, the 10-hour battery life. He is not concerned here with a cheap device, but if you make the sum of all components, the requested amount can still be called "reasonable"….
“Ceci n'est pas une tablette, c'est un ordinateur ...”... ;-)
I have to admit, the flesh is weak, I'm going to succumb to this new violence...unleash hell!

I've been using my iPad for almost a week now and I'm very happy with it. The image is razor sharp. You have many options, especially in combination with the apple pencil. I recommend this iPad if you really want to be creative or have high expectations of an iPad. I think compared to other tablets, this iPad is very fast, has many features, long battery life and high quality. It's a lot of saving, but then you also have something!
