The Home8 Care Starter kit is an alarm system intended especially for senior citizens and the infirm. The set consists of a base station, panic button, siren, HD camera, and 2 activity sensors. You can connect the base station to your home network, after which you can also download the app for your smartphone (iOS, Android, and Windows). The activity trackers record the user's behavior, allowing you to check remotely whether your parents are getting enough exercise, for instance. You can review the measured activity levels in the app. With just 1 push of the panic button, a notification is sent to all receivers, allowing you to take action straight away. You can watch a live feed via the HD camera, which also allows you to contact the people in your home (through two-way communication). The camera can rotate 360 degrees and you can store recorded footage on the
included storage system or in the (free) cloud. Based on who was configured as a preset user (owner, user, or emergency contact), you can take just the right
action after the notification. The owner, for instance, can be forwarded straight to emergency services.
You can expand the alarm system with Home8 accessories of your own choosing, including an additional outdoor camera.
Home8 offers 2 types of alarm system service. The comprehensive basic service is free. The premium service (which allows you to report video alarms and review recorded footage via the app 24/7) costs 7,95 euro per month, but the first 12 months are free.
