According to our dash cam expert
The DOD RC500S is a dual dash cam with WiFi, allowing you to record the traffic situation in front of you and behind you as well. Wirelessly transfer the images to your smartphone. Useful, if your insurance company asks for evidence. The polarization filter prevents reflections. In addition, the GPS function allows you to prove exactly which speed and which routes you took at what time. To prevent speeding tickets, the dash cam is equipped with a speed trap alert. It alerts you when approaching a speed camera. In addition, the device also has a G Sensor which detects unexpected movements. The dash cam then starts recording right away and the recording is securely stored.

My car was already equipped with a dashcam, however, after having seen many videos of dashcam recordings where an accident happened just behind or that people are hit from behind, I decided to look for a Dual Duashcam (front and rear camera). After a few days of good searching on the internet, I finally ended up with the DOD RC500S and so I ordered it. After receiving the camera immediately looked at and was already impressed by the packaging. A day later installed it in the car. To my surprise, it turns out that there are 2 "spudgers" included with the webcam. These spudgers are ideal for neatly hiding the cable in corners, cracks and edges of the car. After half an hour to 45 minutes, the webcam was installed and the cable concealed completely invisibly. The windshield camera is stuck to the windshield behind the interior mirror and is therefore completely invisible (apart from the 2 small pieces of cable that you have here that run to the dashcam). The dashcam is mounted as high as possible on the rear window so that we also have the best view here and are not bothered by the position of the webcam. After the software has been installed on the phone (downloadable from the app store), configuring the dashcam is very easy. After I had made my first ride with the car, I decided to download the images of this with the App. Connecting to the Camera is very easy, but transferring a movie is very slow, so for next time I just take the SD Card out of the camera, which is hidden right behind 1 of the USB connections. The resulting movies that are made are well named (and equipped with an F or R for Front or Rear camera. The Windows app that is available as a download from the manufacturer is very easy to use and shows the and rear camera at the same time along with a map of the entire route.
The unfortunate thing about the camera is that the front camera is not attached with a suction cup, but is glued. The immediate advantage is that it is not attached to a suction cup but is glued. As a result, the camera is immediately very firmly attached to your windscreen and you will have to pay attention to whether you have it correctly before you stick it. Fortunately, you can connect the phone to the camera via WiFi. instantly see the position of the camera and adjust it before sticking it.
All in all, a great camera with good features and a few minuscule flaws. Definitely recommended.

I have researched several dashcams in this price. The DOD rc500s often came out on top. License plates are easy to read from other vehicles, while this was impossible to read with most other cameras. I'm happy with it and hope I don't have to use the camera as much as possible :)

After having read many reviews and having seen recordings of the DOD on Youtube, I thought I had made a well-considered choice for this dashcam. The options were exactly what I was looking for: good image, two cameras, notification for fixed flashes and no connection to a cloud (I don't use that, so I don't want to pay for it).
The installation was fairly doable. The wifi connection was a bit unstable, but that was only a nuisance during installation. When in use, the recordings were of good quality and the dashcam functioned as hoped. A week after installation, the cables are hidden in the dashboard, door jamb and sky of my car.
However, after the second week of use (300 to 400 km?) the problems started. On one ride the dashcam worked properly, on the other rides the dashcam kept shutting down after 30 seconds, and then started up again - and that for whole rides.
Everything was fine with the car/power supply. Installing other firmware on the dashcam did not solve the problems and a factory reset did not solve the problem either. In other words: bad/defective product.
Returning to Coolblue was easy and the money was quickly refunded. They only asked to send everything back, so all cables had to be removed again - quite a job.
This dashcam has cost me a lot of time and aggravation. I don't recommend this to anyone.
