According to our bike trainer expert
When a winner from the Tour de France uses the Wahoo KICKR 2017 bike trainer to train, it's clear that the KIKR is a professional trainer. The KICKR is suitable for the seasoned cyclist who wants to make up extra training hours indoors. While training at home can get boring, that's certainly not the case with the KICKR. By connecting the standard included Wahoo App to an iOS, Android, or Windows device via Bluetooth Smart, you can follow a virtual training or race an existing course. The trainer has a fast-flowing resistance tranisition. In addition, the KICKR is very stable and doesn't slip when you're climbing, which ensures a true-to-life cycling experience. The KICKR accurately simulates sprints, intervals, and mountain climbs while you're training.

Long doubted between the Tacx Neo and the Wahoo Kickr. After the many positive reviews on the cycling sites, but also that I myself work with Apple, I chose the Wahoo. The PC software supplied by Tacx is only suitable for Windows. Both have been tested in the store and have to say that they do not differ much from each other. Yes, the Wahoo makes a little more noise, but in my opinion it does give a more realistic cycling feeling. In addition, the Wahoo comes standard with an 11-speed cassette, which you can also use for your 10-speed bicycle, but then you can only use 10 of the 11 sprockets. If you still want to place a 10-speed cassette, an extra spacer is included, but you have to buy the cassette yourself (as well as the tools for disassembling and mounting the cassette, but I had all that at home as standard).
I use this device as follows: I mounted my iPhone (6s plus) on the handlebar and communicated via Bluetooth and the Apps FulGaz, Kinoapp, Zwift or Wahoo Training with the bicycle trainer. Built into the Kickr is a speed and power meter. A Bluetooth candans sensor is also included. Then my phone reads this data via Bluetooth. While cycling, I also have my Garmin Edge 800 read out via Ant+ at the same time in combination with reading my heart rate monitor (Garmin). Finally, I linked my phone to a beamer via an Apple TV. I have already made several sunny Alpine rides in the meantime and it confirmed my suspicion; 1.0 to 1.5 hours of training is done in no time without getting bored. Nice way to get through the winter months without having to polish your bike every time :-).

Super. Definitely one of the best trainers on the market, and soon it might be the best, when the Kickr Climb comes along. The downside is that quite a bit of bluetooth voodoo was used to get Zwift connected to the PC (the Zwift Mobile Link app must be on the phone, the Kickr must not be connected to the phone via bluetooth. And only then and only then does it recognize the program on PC the Wahoo Kickr. Maybe you should buy such an ANT+ dongle...)

If you don't know anything, it takes a while to find out how everything works (connection with app and calibration). Tip watch online tutorials! Once you have completed calibration and installation, everything works fine.
