I installed this device in a 1999 Ford Focus. With minor adjustments, the device fit without a slide in the dashboard. I was very happy with that because according to many it would not fit at all. The sound quality of this Kenwood is phenomenal, especially compared to the original Ford radio. That alone was worth the money.
Installing the DAB+ antenna went fairly smoothly and otherwise works well. However, DAB+ itself is not yet perfect.
The operation is also reasonably logical and only takes a little getting used to.
The USB on the front is very handy. I put a small USB stick of 64Gb in it and my whole music collection is on it :-)
What I found very disappointing is that the device cannot logically organize the contents of the USB. What you put on the USB first is in folder 1 etc. I have organized my USB stick into folders with Artists and Albums and Songs. The Kenwood does not use this arrangement and so it takes a long time to find an album by a certain Artist while driving. You can't just go through the Alphabet to your favorite guitarist e.g. Yasi Hofer and then in the folder Yasi Hofer go to her album Faith to look for a song there.
According to the manual, you can if you send your music to the radio via your phone (BT or USB). But yes, you don't use a USB stick for that and they know that at Kenwood too. This could really be a reason to choose another radio!
I can also make calls via BT, but access to my phonebook is very limited. This is so limited that you can't really call it a function but more an attempt by an intern on his last day (and who said it worked...).
Finally, it is striking that when you switch between the different modes, all kinds of strange characters are visible on the screen. This may be meant as fun, but it's so striking and also so disturbing and you can't turn it off that I actually think this is still a beta version of the S/W.
