Studiologic SL73 Studio

1. Switching the presets, switching the 4 zones on and off is done with the same combined joystick/rotary/push switch. It is not easy to quickly switch one of the four zones on or off during gameplay. About 4 buttons (one per zone) would have been useful. On the other hand, 250 possible presets are provided. You can program these in such a way that one works with and the other without certain zones. Switching from one preset to another is done with one click. So a big problem need not be the lack of zone switches.

2. I have always played organ and keyboard before. The keyboard of the SL88 Studio is a lot heavier for me and requires some adjustment for playing. But I still experience that attack as better because the reproduced sounds can be nuanced better. I notice a good difference especially for piano and string sounds. It is also useful that you can set a personal touch sensitivity: soft, normal, hard.

3. I have two modules and a keyboard (Korg PA3X) in use. These are all connected to the SL88. The two MIDI outputs and the USB port allow very flexible use. Also because you can assign a specific output per zone. I connected a MIDI bass pedal to the MIDI-in. I play my PA3X from the SL88 but I also play organ. It is only a matter of setting a preset correctly once.

4. Manual is rather brief. Things could have been elaborated a little more. eg. make a backup with the PC.

The touch of this keyboard is super and possibly. easily adjustable to your own taste. Aftertouch present, you don't often come across this with weighted keys. Additional pedal supplied, adjustable for different purposes. Keyboard was slightly cheaper elsewhere, but they couldn't match Coolblue's service, asked customer service several questions and I had a response within 1 hour. Ordered it on Saturday and received it on Sunday 11:15 am. This is highly recommended for anyone who wants to switch from a regular keyboard to a weighted keyboard.

Easy operation with the buttons and color screen. With the quality PC software it is even easier to set the presets. You can then save it and synchronize it with the keyboard. Connection for 4 pedals: easy to perform additional operations with the feet (eg change of preset). Integrates perfectly with a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) with VST instruments. No longer dependent on the sounds of the keyboard itself :-)
