After previously had a TW5650 (which had to be replaced due to circumstances) upgraded to the TW5820. Bought the TW5650 2 years ago at Coolblue as a 2nd choice for 650.-, in short, the TW5820 is certainly not worth the extra price. That's not to say this isn't a good projector.
I project an image of 3m wide at a distance of 5m and the sharpness and brightness in ECO mode is very good for a beamer in this price range. However, that was already the case with the TW5650, so few changes there. The TW5820 has Android TV as an extra addition, but Epson has really hit the mark with that. An extra piece of housing has been placed at the back of the beamer where a media player is hidden such as the Xiaomi Mi TV Stick that coolblue also offers for 40,-.
Pretty smart from Epson and you still have the option to install another media player later, the biggest problem is that Epson forgot to provide the HDMI port with ARC... So if you want the sound of Android TV from a external AV receiver you are limited to Bluetooth or an analog jack plug. With both options it is therefore impossible to enjoy 5.1 surround. As a last option, you still have the speaker of the beamer itself, but for a home cinema they should have saved those costs from me.
