The different types of Microsoft Office for business use
There are different types of Microsoft Office, but there are 2 types that are specifically intended for businesses and entrepreneurs. These are Microsoft Office 365 Business Premium and Office 2019 Home and Business. This sounds quite complicated, but it's not too bad. On this page, we'll show you the difference between these 2 suites.
The differences
Office 365 Business Premium
Just like the other 365 suites, the Office 365 Business Premium license is a 1-year license. That means you have to renew the license after a year to continue to use it. On the other hand, you can install the license on 5 devices at the same time, instead of just 1. And this isn't the only difference. Business Premium includes the Bookings and Outlook Customer Manager features, 2 features that are very useful for business users.
Office 2019 Home and Business
All other Office 2019 suites are recent and permanent licenses and the same goes for Office 2019 Home and Business. Once you've bought the license, you don't have to renew it. That means you can use programs like Word, Outlook, and Excel for ever. Unlike the Business Premium license that you can install on 5 devices at the same time, this license can only be used on 1 device. This license also doesn't have the Bookings and Outlook Customer Manager features that are included on 365 Business Premium.
Outlook Customer Manager
One of the features for businesses in the Busines Premium suite is Outlook Customer Manager. This feature allows you to manage all emails, appointments, and other information from customers from 1 central location. That way, you'll never loose information and you save all data from one specific customer in a single location. In addition, you can easily open and share this information with employees, so everyone can always access the personal preferences and information of any customer.
Bookings
Booking is the other feature that Business Premium offers. This function mainly comes in handy if customers often stop by your business for meetings. Via Bookings, customers can easily book appointments, because they can check the calendar to see when you or one of your employees is free. This way, they reserve a time slot on their own calendar and on yours, after which both parties automatically receive a confirmation and reminders when the meeting is about to take place. Bookings also makes rescheduling an appointment easier than ever before.
Conclusion
There are 3 main differences between Microsoft Office 365 Business Premium and Office 2019 Home and Business. How long the license is valid, on how many devices you can install the suite, and the extra Business Premium features. The Bookings and Outlook Customer Manager features make the Business Premium license particularly interesting for businesses. Many people an use the suite at the same time and profit from the exclusive features. That is why Office 365 Business Premium is recommended for optimal efficiency in the workplace.
