What do you need for business internet?
A good business network ensures that your colleagues are always online. That's why it's important to create a good network. For example, provide wired connections at every fixed workstation and a stable wireless network throughout the building. Router
The router is the heart of your network and transmits data to your switches and access points. This means your router needs to be fast and powerful enough. Choose a router with the same Ethernet speed as your switch. For a large network, you'll often have multiple routers and switches in your network cabinet. Choose devices that fit in a 19-inch rack. Check the dimensions and make sure the router is no wider than 43 or 44cm to allow for leeway during installation. Do you have internet from different providers? Choose a router with at least 2 WAN ports.
Switch
A switch distributes the wired network within your company. You connect the network cable from your router to your switch, after which the switch distributes the signal throughout the office. You can then connect your computers, access points, and other switches. A PoE switch is the best choice for companies because it supplies power via the network cable. This means that compatible devices such as access points or IP cameras don't need a separate power adapter. With more advanced switches, you can set up separate networks so that guests don't have access to important network drives.
Access point
An access point provides stable WiFi in your business and complements your router. You can connect access points to your router via a wired connection to spread reliable WiFi. Business access points are usually mounted on the wall or ceiling, so they don't get in the way. Connect multiple access points to each other for coverage throughout your business. This way, your employees can be online everywhere without delays. The latest access points have WiFi 7. A fast and reliable connection, useful for busy workplaces.
Access point controller
An access point controller allows you to manage all your access points via the cloud. If there's a malfunction while the administrator is away from the office, they can remotely resolve it by logging into the online platform via a browser or app on their computer or smartphone. Connect multiple access points to each other and apply new settings all at once. The controller also backs up your settings, so you always have a secure copy.
