I use this player to listen to my CD collection through headphones. I could then expand to more components later if necessary. The sound quality is very nice. A lot of detail for me, but not sterile. Very nice that the mechanical parts are so quiet. I think the only drawback is that the volume of the headphone output cannot be adjusted via the remote control, but only via the physical rotary knob on the device. That is not always very convenient and results in slightly fewer stars. If you work through an amplifier, you won't be bothered by that, of course. As a bonus, it can also play high-resolution files from USB.
(As said, I only listened with headphones and I can't share experiences about this player in combination with other hi-fi elements)
