I've had the Booster T2500 for a few months now and started using it when the weather turned bad and the roads/bike paths became more polluted making cycling on 23mm wide tires left.
Normally I didn't cycle in the winter and I could start again in the spring with building fitness and strength. Now I can continue building up during the winter with targeted workouts. That is the main reason to buy a bicycle trainer. Then why the Booster? I seem to be able to motivate myself well to complete a training session 2 or 3 times a week by means of the results achieved and selected cycling videos on the computer. VR training may be more fun, but also a lot more expensive. The Booster is the best normal bike trainer, so that's why I chose it.
Installing the Booster is quick and easy. The device is collapsible and easy to move or carry. After being used in the garage, the trainer, with the bicycle on it, is now in a former bedroom on the first floor. The trainer is not silent and transmits sound to the floor below. Buying the Tacx trainer mat helps almost nothing. Changing bikes is also quick and easy.
Training on the Booster is a godsend for me. Independent of all kinds of outside influences, you can complete your training under constant and controlled conditions. As a result, the progress can be noticed and measured each week. A possible disadvantage could be that the resistance of the 8 magnets is a bit on the light side. Setting the resistance to 10 (full) and the gears of the bicycle to 34/28 is clearly too light and cannot be compared with various hills in South Limburg. By the way, that can easily be solved by shifting harder at the rear to simulate the effect of a mountain training, so it's not a problem for me. In addition, I wonder: wouldn't the rear wheel slip a lot more with an even heavier resistance? The rear wheel almost never does that skidding. Not even with even heavier gear changes and standing in the pedals.
All in all I am very satisfied with the Booster and would definitely recommend it to others. More important (!) condition is that you can motivate yourself to train a few times. If you can't do that, you'll soon lose your mind.
