What's the Coolblue Protection Plan?

About the Protection Plan

With a Coolblue Protection Plan, you're insured for damage. Even when you accidentally cause it yourself. Did someone else cause the damage? You're also insured. Also want coverage in case of theft? Choose the Protection Plan with theft coverage.

Addition to your contents insurance

Damage due to manufacturing errors, falling, theft, or wrong usage often isn't covered by your contents insurance. With a Protection Plan, you can cover this. You're also insured of the purchase price instead of the current market value of your product.

More coverage than with standard warranty

Our standard warranty only covers damage caused by manufacturing errors. The Protection Plan also covers fall damage. You're also insured for damage because you accidentally use the product wrongly.

What to do in case of damage or theft

No one wants to have a broken or stolen product. Luckily, you have an insurance for this with a Coolblue Protection Plan. When there's damage, we repair your product. This can be done at home or via us. In case of theft, you receive shop credit with the value of the purchase price of your product.

What am I insured against with a Protection Plan?

With the Protection Plan, you're insured for fall damage, impact damage, and water damage. Manufacturing errors after the warranty are also covered. Do you choose theft coverage? You'll receive the purchase price back in case of theft. You can find all coverages in the terms and conditions.

What am I not insured against with a Backup Plan?

You're not insured for damages that are covered by the standard warranty. Do you have damage, but does your product still work? This won't be covered. For example, scratches, dents, and damage due to dirt or blockages. You're also not covered for damages due to gross negligence. You can find all exceptions in the Terms and Conditions.

What's the difference in coverage between a Protection Plan and payment via credit card?

The Protection Plan offers wider coverage than most credit card purchase insurances. These are often limited to 6 months after purchase. They also often have a maximum compensation and don't offer coverage in case of wrong usage. The precise differences depend on the terms and conditions of your credit card company.

Can I still cancel my Protection Plan?

You can cancel your insurance for free up to 30 days after purchasing, as long as you haven't filed a claim. Call our customer service to do this. After 30 days, canceling isn't possible anymore unless you have an insurance that you can cancel every month. You can cancel it every month via our customer service. You only have to pay until the cancellation month in that case.

What should I do if my insured product is damaged?

Register your broken product in one of our stores, via our customer service, or via the online damage form in My Coolblue. For large and heavy products, the technician comes to your house or the product will be picked up for repairs.

Do I have to pay in case of damage or theft?

No, with the Coolblue Protection Plan you don't pay extra costs or a deductible.
