According to our amplifier expert
The Sony STR-DH130 is a versatile stereo receiver with 5 audio inputs and plenty of power at 90 watts per channel. The STR-DH130 has moved with the times and now has a 3.5mm mini jack input at the rear, enabling you to easily connect your MP3 player. The integrated AM/FM tuner is sensitive and receives almost all radio stations. Thanks to the speaker A-B selection, you can also connect 2 pairs of speakers. The familiar, high-quality Sony finish and remote complete the package. With the STR-DH130, you'll enjoy the best quality music, and you can also use the device as an amplifier for a 2.0 setup for movies and TV.

After having played with an expensive class-D stereo amplifier (2500 euros) for a long time, decided again to want surround for which a top Yamaha surround bar has already been purchased. A small budget remained for a stereo amplifier with tuner on board. I really wanted a tuner because I think digital radio sounds a lot less, unfortunately there is just too much compression through my digital setup box.
Now I have always been Sony minded, especially since the 80s and 90s when the ES (extremely standard) line was perhaps the best audio equipment for sale. Unfortunately, that era of Sony is over, but I still think they are top in terms of reliability and ease of use. That's why I chose this dirt-cheap Sony amplifier. For more money you can buy the nicer Yamaha AS-R700, but will you hear that in terms of sound?
Back to the Sony: what has been saved for this money? Fortunately for the unimportant things for me: fixed power cord, simple speaker clamps, no subwoofer output, not a single LED not even the one in the power button, very thin housing (except for the front) almost no internal damping, plastic buttons and only in available in black.
Fortunately, what did they not skimp on? The sound is the most important thing. It is on the quieter side, but sounds surprisingly good. It's not as detailed and "rich" as my class D amp was, but on the other hand it sounds good even with lesser sources and doesn't play as forward/in your face. The volume can go up quite well, more than I expected but don't expect miracles from the certainly not disappointing transformer and 2x6800 microfarad capacitors. You can always adjust the sound to your liking with the very well-functioning bass and treble equalizers, something that was a completely different story with my previous amplifier.
Furthermore, I like the operation, which is logical and fast. The screen provides little information, but is perfectly legible and can be dimmed even further. The volume also works accurately and the steps are perfect in my eyes, so not too big and not too small. Finally, the Tuner part with RDS is very good, the reception with the supplied cable is not great (at our house), but the quality surprised me.
In conclusion: if you are looking for a cheap, affordable amplifier with a no-frills tuner, I can only recommend this one. It may not be Mother's prettiest, and doesn't have the modern bells and whistles, but I think that's only a positive thing, because I don't think the sound of many modern amps is anything to write home about, and isn't that exactly where it comes in? such a device?

I bought this amplifier because I had an old Bose set lying around that I wanted to connect. Also called Bose's milk cartons.. I doubted a lot, didn't want to buy junk and at the same time didn't spend any power to buy a good amplifier that I could also use via my TV. I am very happy with the choice for this amplifier, it does exactly what I wanted, nice deep sounds and good music to listen to.

The device delivers excellent quality for its price range. Speakers and other devices can be connected without any problems. I would like to emphasize the importance of reading the manual beforehand. Certain functions are encapsulated in the menu. However, they are present and functioning as they should. I can only congratulate myself on this purchase. A USB connection would be desirable, but I don't think we should expect that in this price range.
