The sound is insanely good! Maybe I wasn't used to much, my previous subwoofer was an old Klipsch, that's not the least brand. But in combination with my Dali Fazon Mikro main speakers, I never really got the sound right. With some music the sound was too thin, with others too boomy. I was actually constantly turning the knobs on the subwoofer. On top of that, I always felt that the main speakers and the sub were working side by side, they were on their own and didn't flow well into each other.
After unpacking and connecting this Dali, the sound sounds full, warm and detailed, and above all homogeneous. A world of difference. Main speakers and sub clearly form a whole and come into their own optimally. Even at lower volume everything sounds noticeably better and I have much less need to turn up the volume knob. The clarity of the Fazon Mikro main speakers and the warmth of the subwoofer complement each other perfectly. It's unbelievable how well Dali does that. I deliberately set the volume of my sub very low, and that is enough for a lively and never obtrusive sound. The low tones sound natural and velvety. By the way, I only listen to music, I don't have a surround set, so I can't judge the performance in that area. But the sound quality in terms of music is incredibly good, and it doesn't matter what kind of music you listen to.
Is there really nothing to complain about? Yes. You have to buy the front separately and it is very expensive, Dali should still supply this as standard because a subwoofer is very vulnerable. In addition, the front is apparently difficult to obtain, I did not see them in stock at any webshop. Anyway, I'm willing to pay for this investment, because this subwoofer is truly sublime.
