According to our television remote expert
Consider the Logitech Harmony Companion as your devices' best friend. This universal remote lets you control more than 250,000 different devices. It can operate not only your audio and video equipment, but also other smart devices in your home, such as a thermostat, lighting, and the locks on your doors. Create moments with Harmony Activities. 1 push of a button lets you set music, lights, and the temperature, for example. Your room will be ready for a fabulous evening with friends in no time. The Harmony Hub, which is identical to the separate hub, transforms your smartphone and tablet into a remote. Connect the Hub with your WiFi network and control lighting and the thermostat remotely, even when you're not at home.

We've been using the Harmony Companion for about a week now. (standard household with two kids) This introductory week you also need to get used to it. You really have to get used to the idea that you control a hub, and actually no longer have a "physical" remote control. So you should no longer use all original remote controls, otherwise your system will get upset. In the unlikely event that there is a malfunction, for example if the TV does not turn on, this can be repaired with the help of a few buttons. To make sure the Companion is there for you and your family members, and not the other way around, before installation, make sure you know the model numbers of all of your devices you plan to use. The correct television (Medion 30323) was not in the compatibility list with us, but the 30325 was. Eventually, after 45 minutes on the phone with a very friendly and patient lady from the telephone helpdesk of Harmony, this was professionally resolved. That alone is worth your *** Euro. For example, the Medion 325, which was entered as "our TV" has 10 inputs, while our television only has 9 inputs. Here the hub went completely wrong when changing activity. It is therefore also important to know in advance which input (HDMI-1 or HDMI-2, TV-SAT, DVD.... and so on) is set on your equipment. If you want to connect a Ziggo Horizonbox to your Companion, enter it as Samsung SMT-G7401 (or 7400 if you have one from the first series...) Via device settings you can eventually transfer all keys from the original remote control to your new hub. As said, the Harmony Companion is really an assailant, but don't think I will connect it in 5 minutes, this will take at least an hour. If everything works properly, and you can now maneuver a bit through the App, then the Harmony Companion is definitely a good one. The only real downside I've found so far is that you can't change certain keys yourself in the App. An example of this is the TV-Guide button on the original Horizon Box remote control, which is missing from the App. You can conjure it up via device setting under button setting on the remote control of the Harmony, but not on the App, so you have to take a detour (several button buttons on the App) to the same result.

Have always had the Logitech Harmony one. Used for many years with pleasure, but the volume knob gave out. Was looking for a similar set but a bit simpler in terms of user-friendliness for my girlfriend. I also found the option of google home combination very interesting. But afterwards it turns out that it is not yet compatible in NL. For your information, use this with the following equipment: panasonic smart tv Panasonic Blu-ray Pioneer vsx923 amplifier ps4 kpn zte 4k
Remote control fits comfortably in the hands and is also very light. Furthermore, it solves my problem of 4 remotes.
The remote control is very easy to use. Everything can be set up properly via the app on my android phone. Especially set activities, so for example 1 button to watch TV. The hub then sets all equipment to the correct settings, inputs and outputs.
It is even possible in my case to set buttons in activities that my original remote control does not have. There are a lot of options for connectivity, bluetooth, ir and wifi. Updating did not run smoothly but eventually succeeded to 3x. Had no further problems.
To be honest, I think the price is very high. It is certainly a useful product, but one will have to decide for themselves how much it is used. Just enough for me for this price.
I don't miss the screen of my harmony one. The simple companion remote has everything and works better. It also attracts less dust and dirt. If something goes wrong or if you need something else, you can also use your phone with the app.

This product is even better than I expected. The remote works great and does the basic operation that is expected of it. If you temporarily need some more functions for some extra settings (deeper in the menu of, for example, an amplifier), you can really do everything with the phone app. I could say many more positive things about this, but you'll find out for yourself.
