Winix AW600

Bought the Winix to replace my 30 year old Melitta Acclimat RB30, there were no more evaporation filters available for this. Partly because of this, we opted for a model that can evaporate without filters. Unfortunately, the Winix makes far too much noise to achieve the desired moisture percentage. It is constantly running at position 2, which in my opinion should have been the highest setting. It would have been much better instead of setting 3, there would have been a setting between 1 and 2. For the first few days I used my old water evaporator next to it to get the moisture level up to scratch. My old evaporator was on the highest sound level between position 1 and 2 of the Winix and then evaporated about 5 ltr. every 24 hours. It is not easy to find an ideal water vaporizer, air purifier. My criteria were, quiet, compact, maintenance-friendly, beautiful, easy to place anywhere. Most air scrubbers, evaporators blow the processed air out again through the side grilles, this has the disadvantage that you have to keep much more space around the device and it is easily experienced as a draft. This leaves only a few air scrubbers. If you add the space of 55M² to that, only the Winix 600 remains. I still doubt whether it is a good choice, because actually only position 1 is usable if you are in the same room. This has the disadvantage that the humidity drops below 40%, even in rainy weather. I now use it at night on automatic and as soon as we start watching TV or sometimes during the day when it is quiet on position 1. However, the improved air quality makes up for a lot.

Owned it for 3 weeks now and really like it. No precipitation on the furniture and no water vapor to be seen, perfect. Cleaning is also quite simple, we clean the water container after every water filling and rinse the rotating blades that rotate in the water container with lukewarm water. Clothing is less static and the feeling of comfort is slightly improved feels slightly warmer in the room due to better balance between temperature and humidity.

This humidifier works well. You can set it up however you want. This way you can lower it if you want less noise. Or harder if possible or necessary. The disadvantage is that you clearly have a humidifier in your room and continuously consume power.
