I have owned the TomTom Spark 3 Cardio for about 5 months now and I use it 2 or 3 times a week while running. I have worn this watch for a whole day several times. Based on this behavior I will write my review.
I found it difficult to set up at the beginning. But once set up I found the watch very clear. A clear manual can be found online and there are videos of certain settings. This made it quickly possible to master the controls. Activating the light is easy when you are running. You only have to put your hand on the screen for a very short time.
The synchronization with my phone is going well, only sometimes it takes quite a while for a small amount of data to be sent. However, I have no problem with this synchronization, unlike some other messages. My phone (HTC) is fine.
The battery lasts about a week with my use, so when I go for a run 2-3 times a week with it and occasionally wear it as an activity tracker for a day. But this doesn't even happen every week. In the meantime, the watch cannot be switched off and it is therefore simply stationary. The heart rate measurement is not always very precise, but for me it is certainly accurate enough. It occasionally falters, but this has only happened a few times. I would still recommend a chest strap for more accurate measurements, although I find that a little less comfortable as a woman.
I've tested the lap function a few times during interval training, but I don't think it adds any value. Mainly because it's hard for me to think about it.
The real disadvantage of this watch is that it often needs an update for QuickGPS. Otherwise it will take a long time for the GPS to be found. It only takes 10 seconds to update it, but I still have to think about it all the time, since I often don't charge my watch via my laptop.
By now I can also compare a little bit with Polar's M400, since one of my relatives has it. The price of this is higher, especially if you also want heart rate measurement in the wrist with the M600, but Polar's graphs and the like are certainly a lot nicer and more extensive. It also seems to be more accurate, especially while sleeping, for example. With the chest strap of the M400, the heart rate measurement is also more accurate.
As for the size of the strap: I'm exactly in between and I could wear both straps, an S and an L. I also have both sizes as a strap and I find the S a lot more comfortable. For those who are exactly in between, I would still recommend the S.
I also consciously chose a watch that does not display notifications from a smartphone. When I'm running I don't need it and other times I just have my phone with me. So I think this is a positive point, but I can imagine that others find this a negative.
For this price I think it is a very nice and good watch and I do not regret it. But if you want to invest more money, there are other beautiful watches on the market and maybe even better. Still, I can definitely recommend the TomTom.

This is my second TomTom sports watch. In the first (runner2), the heart rate when cycling did not work at all. This continued to fluctuate between 80 and 90 beats/min. Then I switched to the Spark3. But unfortunately, here too the heart rate does not work when cycling, it keeps fluctuating between 80 and 100 beats 80% of the time. Cycling by heart rate is therefore not possible. That's why I bought a separate heart rate monitor: a Polar H7. It has been indicated that it is compatible with the TomTom. And that may be true, because when he does it, he does it well. But he drops out regularly. So training on heart rate is not included with the TomTom. Pity.
