According to our motorcycle headset expert
With the Cardo Scala Rider Packtalk Bold Single JBL motorcycle intercom, you can listen to route instructions through your motorcycle GPS. This way, you can keep your eyes safely on the road and your hands on your handlebars. This system is useful when you ride in a group. You can talk on with up to 15 other motorcyclists via the mesh network on the road. Unlike Bluetooth, the mesh connection doesn't disconnect when one or more riders leave the group. You can easily connect your smartphone and motorcycle GPS. The noise suppression and noise cancelling allow you to listen to music and make phone calls undisturbed. In addition, the volume adjusts to ambient noise and the device is waterproof.

Functionality
I am experiencing problems with controlling Siri (iPhone) through the Packtalk. There is a bug, which has been going on for some time, and makes voice control, in combination with noise reduction, impossible. On Reddit, Apple and Cardo point to each other as the culprit for this problem. Since this is a big selling point, it is very bad that this is still not solved a long time later.
In addition, it is important to realize that the Slim version of the Packtalk at LANG is NOT suitable for all helmets. For my HJC i70, I had to push really hard, with a credit card stuck between the helmet (probably removing some glue) for the Packtalk to fit in between. My Shoei Neotec Splicer 2 is specially made for use with an OTHER headset, so the combination with the Packtalk Slim does not look very nice. The battery on the back is quite loose, the wires are actually just too short and I had to remove a plastic plate on the side of the helmet, so the whole thing doesn't look very nice.
It is very nice to listen to music on the motorcycle, without having a heavy headset on the side, which catches a lot of wind. The sound quality of the microphone is good. I also quite believe the claims that the Packtalk has the best sound quality due to the collaboration with JBL, although it is nothing to write home about yet.
