You'll never get wafers without holes, unless you don't mind your plates overflowing (annoying to clean). Sandwiches are nice and crispy and the cheese melts well, but only casino bread fits on the supplied plates, other sandwiches are too big. Would have preferred the panini grill plates instead of this one. We like the device so much that we immediately ordered poffertjes plates! Very handy that you can get all kinds of plates with it, although they are not cheap... We hope that in the future this device will also be a relatively safe way for our daughter to bake poffertjes / pancakes etc compared to a gas stove.
