This projector replaced a much older optoma projector (EP759) and I had my doubts whether the purchase would be worth it. The old one was 3500 lumens, and this one a max of 4000 but in cinema mode a lot less. But the difference is really night and day. Literally, because you can also use this one during the day, the old one only at night or with almost complete blackout. This one listens carefully in terms of placement. The zoom lens zooms a bit for that direction of placement, of course, but because I wanted to hang it just below the ceiling, it's pointed down a little bit, which with this projector means that you don't have to see the top and bottom halves. can focus. My choice for this beamer was mainly because of the laser lamp. In addition to being long lasting, it also doesn't need that extreme cooling, which in turn requires filters to clean. And since it's in the man cave, which is quite a dusty environment, that makes all the difference. IMHO this optoma projector is the most affordable 'real' projector with solid state lighting.
