The doorbell was connected to a suitable transformer (confirmed by the manufacturer) and even hung under a roof. But it was all to no avail. After getting a new one 3 times, I finally bought a Eufy product that does work. Save yourself the frustration and don't buy this doorbell.
Incidentally, Coolblue has solved it neatly time after time by sending a new replacement device, but you don't have such a doorbell to constantly have to replace.
