I never had any problems with the WH-CH710N. It worked like magic.
The WH-1000XM4 has better noise canceling but almost everything else is worse: Battery life is worse, bluetooth doesn't work as well and sometimes it fails to connect to my devices. The buttons on the headphones are also generally worse and not convenient. Some functions turn on randomly, such as ''voice to chat'', and it's unclear how to turn it off. The XM4 also pauses videos/songs when I take it off... Also, the frame inside the headband is made of plastic, even though the 710N that was before the XM4 has a steel frame.
The WH1000XM4 is much worse in almost every way, for double the price. The only good thing is that the noise canceling on the XM4 is indeed better.
