Summary: The product is very nice in design, you can notice that functionality has been well thought out, but the build quality is debatable.
I am very satisfied with the product, all the buttons were where they make the most sense, with the exception of the analog stick on the throttle (which is very uncomfortable).
I used this hotas as a sequel to my dual T16000Ms for the game Star Citizen. The reason I got this set is because I wanted a hotas with a twist axis in the joystick.
You often sacrifice precision for this twist axis on the Pitch and Jaw, something that has been a well-considered choice for me and something I can live with just fine.
During the installation there were some problems, especially ghosting was something that is very present.
For those who don't know what this is, this is that your computer thinks you're pressing buttons or moving the joystick without you doing it. The solution for me was to connect the throttle to my USB hub, which was in the back of my PC, and the joystick directly to the front of my PC. In this way, both devices were in a separate USB bus, so there was no more Ghosting.
Except for that little thing, it was plug and play. I replaced the spring for a softer spring (joystick) and therefore had to adjust the dead zones (they were now slightly larger). Something I found out is that there are deadzones and S-curves for almost every axis, except for the analog sticks. I used these sticks for horizontal movements (strafe), it would have been easier if this had been possible. after all, the code was already programmed for every other axis anyway. After the hotas no longer caused problems with ghosting, the experience was that everything just worked.
That's why I'm so disappointed about the following;
However, I soon noticed at the beginning that the throttle started to loosen, so I had to tighten the thigtening wheel more and more. Until a few days ago this was no longer possible. This was ultimately the reason that I sent it back to CoolBlue.
So on the internet you mainly read from people that the throttle is too stiff and can't be loosened anymore, so with me it was just the other way around.
Let's hope that when Logitech comes out with a new edition, they make their own software and release the hotas with better quality control!
