According to our cooler expert
Thanks to the freezer function, you can also use this cooler as a freezer.
The cooler is very portable, thanks to the handle.
The cooling performance of a compressor cooler doesn't depend on the ambient temperature.
The cooler doesn't have a 230-volt plug, so you'll need a transformer if you want to use it at the campsite.
Compressor coolers will activate every now and then to retain the right temperature, which means they aren't silent.
The Dometic CoolFreeze CDF 18 is a compact compressor cooler that lets you chill drinks and some food in the car. You can easily connect the cooler with a 12 or 24-volt car charger. Thanks to its 18-liter capacity, the cooler is large enough to transport 0.75-liter bottles upright. There's a handy plastic divider in the fridge, which lets you organize food. The cooler can chill or freeze down to temperatures of -18°C. On top of that, its cooling performance doesn't depend on ambient temperature, so the CoolFreeze CDF 18 will perform just as well when it's very hot outside. You can use the convenient handle at the top of the cooler to move it around. Note: compressor coolers activate every now and then to stay at the right temperature and to stop their contents from heating up. This means that compressor coolers will be slightly louder at times, similar to the sound produced by the fridge in your kitchen.
Bought to buy meat or fish far from home and then be able to store it at the appropriate temperature. Also bought a 230 V adapter so that the box can cool on the mains before placing it in the car. Cooling to approximately 0°C goes smoothly (approximately 30 minutes) with an empty box. Since it is a compressor model, you can hear the cool box turning on from time to time, like a refrigerator, and then you have a noise like a refrigerator. Have the trolley version so that you can also drive from the front door to the car. Attention wheels are only suitable for hard surfaces such as footpaths, tiled floors, linoleum etc... .
