According to our headphones expert
Combine luxurious comfort with an accurate and high-end sound, and the result is the Bowers & Wilkins P7. The 40mm drivers provide clean and low tones, accurately defined vocals, and a balanced, spacious sound. The soft leather ear cushions with dual cavity form to the shape of your head and completely seal you from the outside world. This way, you can fully enjoy your music. The controls in the cable is optimized for Apple and doesn't work with Android. When you don't use the headphones, fold them like a pair of sunglasses and put them in the included case.

Before this I had the p5 (series 1) and I really liked it. It's just unbelievable what B&W can get out of their headphones. The P7 is no exception. At first glance it felt quite big but you forget that. Once on your head you end up in your own world of pure accurate music. €400 seems like a lot indeed and some deduct some points for these headphones because they don't have a noise-cancelling system. Well I can tell you that you don't need that either because once on your head you hear almost nothing! Well insulated and a beautiful finish. What's also great is that you can simply replace or order individual parts of your headphones as an extra on the B&W website. The ear pads and cables etc. are simply replaceable if they are worn out or if you want an extra pair.
For quality and finish I give the P7s a 10. You really have to hold it in your hands to understand it. The eye for detail is unparalleled. All in all, I would definitely recommend the P7s for those who want to enjoy their music without compromise.

The first few days these headphones - like many other high-end headphones - need time to "break off", also known as "burn-in". Still, I enjoyed the first few minutes that I had it on. Been on the road for about five days now, he has now got about 60 hours of exercise. In the beginning it sounded rather bassy, with some mid-range that "leaked" in the midrange. That was after an hour or 4 at considerable power already a lot less.
I've owned several audiophile - and more expensive - headphones, such as the Sennheiser HD650, AKGs from the K800 series, Beyerdynamics DT 880 and 990. Still, this one brings a smile to my face every day, especially when it is connected to my Audioquest Dragonfly. Not to say these headphones need a DAC/Amp, though, they do improve the sound immensely. More open.
Plugged directly into an iPhone 7 or iPad, it is certainly not a small one, because of the low resistance it is easy to control.
Do you have the budget? Just do it, you won't regret it! Forget the Sennheiser Momentum series. If you have the chance, compare them, even in the store, you'll see what I mean. These headphones are said in various high-end forums that they are not "analytical". I think otherwise. Every detail is there, while it still sounds very musical.
The soundstage is phenomenal for closed headphones, the placement of instruments is wide, almost 3D and only marginally smaller than with "open" headphones. The advantage of this closed construction is that the extension in the layer then continues enormously. No undefined BOOM in the low end, but real low tones that you even seem to feel.
As far as I'm concerned, no negatives, but I'd like to mention it anyway: If your source doesn't sound like anything, then these headphones aren't for you. Bad MP3's are way out of reach. If the recordings aren't good, it will sound like nothing (you can polish a turd, it's still a turd ;)). Does your source sound right: Buy.
If it hasn't already come through in my review: I'm very happy with it!

It took me a while to make the decision to buy new headphones, as this is a price range where there are many quality headphones such as the Sennheiser momentum 2.0 or the Master & Dynamic mh40 (among many others). But I read so many positive reviews about the versatility of the p7 where every genre of music comes into its own by producing the most neutral sound possible that is certainly not sterile, but sounds very warm (unlike the Bang & Olufsen h6, which much too neutral).
What stands out when you take the p7 out of its box is the quality with which it is built, such as the aluminum and sheepskin leather. The p5 also looked very good (somewhat retro-ish), but the looks of the p7 surpass everything. It is certainly not too heavy and because of the soft cushions, it is also very comfortable around the ears.
As for the sound, the p7 produces a very balanced sound, much better than that of the (old) p5. This is partly because this model is over the ears, which gives you a more open sound, which gives a much greater feeling of empathy. The size of the speakers allows for a bass that is certainly present, but far from dominant (unlike the Beats for example). B&W have a very typical warm neutral sound, which is certainly reflected in these headphones. This is a very pleasant sound as it ensures little distortion of the music and almost every instrument is detectable separately
So I can only recommend these headphones, and for those who would hesitate between the p5 or the p7, I can only say that I would choose the p7 anyway. Not only because it has a much better sound and bass, but also because it is much more comfortable around the ears instead of on them, which is much more pleasant, and because it is foldable it is also very portable.
(tip, if you want to use the phone for the first time it is best to let it play for between 20 and 30 hours, because when you play it for the first time it sounds quite subdued, which is normal, but which changes a lot after he has been able to play for several hours)
