I was actually looking for an SLR and lens with a reasonable zoom range, but soon came up with a price of 3000 € , just a bit too much for the number of photos I take and then I only had half the zoom range of this device. A device with only advantages. (see other reviews) If you use the energy-hungry functions such as GPS and WiFi, the battery will run out faster. This makes sense and I don't see any drawbacks. In the meantime, an extra original battery with external charger (ACC-TRBX) has been purchased. (found at Sony itself) The macro capability of this device is sufficient, and considering the zoom range of this lens quite an achievement. The images are sharp enough to go even further digitally. Tip: Protecting the lens with a UV filter is essential, as it is not replaceable. (must be on every lens actually) I also provided the GGS ProScreen Screen Protector for the LCD screen, which is much better than a foil. Price/quality this is the perfect alternative. However, the original battery and charger was not available at coolbleu and I am still looking for the original lens hood. Otherwise, as always good service.
