In the Le Creuset Signature Round Dutch Oven 24cm Matte Black, you can prepare dishes for about 4 people. That's ideal for a family or if you like to have some leftovers for the next day. The pan is made of cast iron, so it gradually builds up the heat and distributes it evenly. This makes the pan very suitable for stews. You can simmer meat or prepare a fresh pasta sauce, for example. Cast iron is very durable as well. If you maintain the pan properly, it'll last for years or maybe even generations. The pan is suitable for all heat sources, including induction and use in the oven up to any temperature. And there are drip rings in the lid that evenly distribute the moisture over your dish. This way, your meat stays nice and tender and cooks evenly.

This is my second pan from Creuset and the 24cm version is just right for a family of 4. I also have a 28 cm Le Creuset and it is quite large, and I only use it for large groups or a large amount of stew, soup or sauce. I just wanted a smaller pan for everyday use and I have now found it. In contrast to the other colours, the black version has a somewhat rough inside. I was curious how this would go with cooking but it works perfectly. An additional advantage is that you will not see a color difference over time; something that could possibly happen with the light inside. The pan is a feast for the eyes and even if it costs quite a bit of money; with a lifetime warranty and perfect durability, this is a great investment.
