Sunday immediately updated the firmware to V3.3 and tested. Hotspot Extender (HE) works perfectly, also with Ziggo hotspots.
Tried first time in France with Wifi provider "WiFirst" (Camping le Pomier). Works perfectly, buy 1 Voucher and with 6 devices Online. The weak Wifi signal of the campsite was also well amplified.
Then tried in France at another campsite (Le Ranc Davaine) with Wifi Provider "Osmozis" That does not work!! Installation completed in 5 minutes. Voucher purchased for 1 device for 2 weeks at 33 euros. With 6 devices online, but after 15 minutes the message appears that a device has been detected for Internet sharing and that this is not allowed.
Subsequently, the account is also blocked and you cannot use the Internet without the HE. Changing the Mac address, etc., nothing works. That means you have a HE of 159 euros (original price) and a voucher of 33 euros and no internet yet
Engenius also plays a dubious double role in this. On the one hand, they sell Wi-Fi equipment for setting up paid Wi-Fi on, among other things, campsites (pay per device). On the other hand, they supply equipment to share WiFi and to get multiple devices online with a voucher for 1 device.
Conclusion:
Perfect device that works well if it is not detected by the Wifi\internet provider. from firmware V3.3 even easier to set up via the "Dashboard"
Advice:
If you are not sure if it will work, buy a voucher for 1 day first. You can test if it works.
