According to our oven expert
Sometimes it's a puzzle to find the right preparation for your dish. Luckily, it's very easy to set up the Siemens CM676GBS1. Just select what you want to prepare and the oven knows which system is needed. It chooses between preparation with the fan oven, upper heat, lower heat, or a combination of all these functions. Or combine them with varioSpeed in the oven and microwave function for an extra quick baking result. Do you prefer to follow your grandmother's recipe for the perfect apple pie? Just set everything manually. It's very easy to clean the oven, thanks to the pyrolysis function. Dirt is converted to ashes, which you just have to sweep from the oven.

Bought this combi oven in February 2018, mainly because of the oven function. We are extremely satisfied with the amount of functions and quality thereof. The oven in particular is very good, heats up quickly (200 degrees in ±6 min.) and also stays warm for a long time. The microwave does what it's supposed to do.
The interface is less user-friendly: the menu responds a little slower to clicking and scrolling. Also, not all menu items are clearly designed or placed in a logical place. For example, functions have been included in the menu with white text on a light yellow background. The text is difficult to read, especially in full daylight.
The amount of accessories that are included can be called in short: oven rack and baking tray. For our use, however, it was not lacking in supplies, so fine in that sense.
As beautiful as the adventure began, it ends badly. Unfortunately, the oven broke down just outside the warranty period (two months after expiry) due to a technical error: neither oven nor microwave are usable.
Unfortunately, Siemens does not offer any kindness. Their only offer is to have a mechanic look at the oven. The costs are already €99 for only the call-out costs, plus €9 per 6 minutes! This does not include the necessary materials for recovery. For an oven that cost more than €1000 when purchased, I think this service is below par.
From both an environmental and customer satisfaction perspective, we are extremely disappointed in Siemens. We had hoped for either reduced technician costs or reduced parts costs. Other manufacturers give longer guarantees for less money. No more Siemens for us.

I don't really understand why people complain about the wheel to select options with. That thing works fine for me. Not so stiff that you have to hang from it, and not so loose that you accidentally turn it. The menu layout is nice to the point and doesn't offer a ton of useless options (at least not if you don't want to). There are some other minor drawbacks to this model.
I have my doubts about the touchscreen. It works well and the sensitivity is perfect, but if you have the oven in a base cabinet, e.g. under your stove, it is difficult to operate that (rather small) touchscreen. You have to bend down or get on your knees. This is mainly because you don't feel the virtual "buttons" on the touchscreen compared to physical buttons. So you always have to look carefully that you touch it in the right place. Fortunately, the most important buttons (power and start-stop) are physical buttons. Also, the touchscreen cannot be operated with (oven) gloves on - something that is not inconceivable when you work with an oven. This is because it is a capacitive touchscreen, and that only works with bare fingers.
The fit of the oven in my bottom cabinet is good, but the oven door seems to sit deeper in the cabinet at the bottom than at the top. As if the oven is leaning forward as if it were. This is not due to the construction of my kitchen - it is dead straight. It must be normal, but as soon as you see this, it continues to stand out.
In terms of function, it is otherwise just a great oven. Does what it should. And that is also possible for the money. I have not tried the pyrolysis function yet. This function heats the oven to about 500 degrees to turn all food residues into ashes and takes at least 1:15 hours, so I don't think that is something you will do often. And since I've had the oven for a week now, I haven't needed that function yet.
What I found really weird is that if you just set the oven with a temperature and a baking time, the baking time immediately starts counting down, while the thing is still preheating. My previous oven didn't do this - it preheated itself first, and when that's done, and you've had the door open and closed, then the baking time starts counting down. Maybe I should set this oven differently or something, but actually I expect that the baking time just always starts as soon as the oven is preheated, and not before.
Finally, the rooter and roasting pan don't fit tightly in the oven, and don't exactly slide in and out of the appliance. An annoying squeak when you pull the grid, where metal slides over metal. That could have been done a little better. An additional advantage is that you can take any baking grid or plate (of the right size of course) and it will then simply fit in.
In the end I think it all just takes some getting used to.

Nice intuitive operation. Still have to unpack the manual.
