Wahoo's first real bike computer is an instant hit. The device looks beautiful and is very solidly built. It does not have a color screen, which has the advantage that the screen is readable in any circumstance. The maps are also easy to read. The different screens can be changed very quickly and easily with the companion app on your smartphone. On the side and top are LEDs that can be set for speed, heart rate, notifications (text/phone) or navigation. Synchronization is fast via WiFi, or via the app.

There are still some bugs or missing features (eg turn by turn navigation, Strava live segments), but these will be solved with updates in the coming weeks.

I was initially somewhat skeptical about product (price / features), but I am convinced.

Navigating is really great! I tested it in Germany in unfamiliar territory and I never made a mistake. Even the most difficult gravel paths are on the map. The unfortunate thing is that when you make a wrong turn, Wahoo doesn't steer you in the right direction like Tom Tom. However, you immediately notice that you are wrong (flashing red LEDs) and you can navigate back fine yourself.

Uploading routes may be better, but I do believe that this will be resolved by Wahoo in due course. Unfortunately I can't get GPX routes from GPSies.com on the Wahoo, but if you copy the routes via Ridewithgps it works fine.

The great thing is that you don't buy an out-of-the-box item and that's it. The Elementt gets better and better through software updates. An example is the turn-by-turn navigation. It was not available 2 weeks before my purchase. Now with a software update.

I only have a cadence sensor that I have not yet managed to add to the Wahoo.

And sometimes it doesn't work well to add driven routes to Strava.

Furthermore, the Element is really solid. No touchscreen, but you can easily navigate through the menu via sturdy rubber buttons.

Connecting with your iPhone is also a piece of cake via scanning the QR code. And finished!
