Since the beginning of 2015 I was looking for the right combination between smartwatch and activity tracker. (didn't have to be a watch shape, wristband was fine too). I exercise regularly (fitness) and wanted to actively track my activity, heart rate, sleep and nutritional intake including incoming notifications from my smartphone (calls/texts/whatsapp).

I have tried many different wearables: Apple Watch Vivosmart Fitbit Surge Fitbit Charge HR TomTom Cardio + Music Garmin Forerunner 225

Something was always wrong (no HR pulse sensor, no incoming notifications, awkward dimensions, heart rate that was not accurate, etc). It made me despondent.

Until I tested the Garmin Forerunner 235 HRM.

Even though I think this device is primarily aimed at runners, for my current needs this device is PERFECT and I absolutely recommend it, even if it is a bit pricey.
