The K1 is an excellent choice as a full-frame DSLR. Thanks to the K-mount, the camera works with a wide range of older Pentax lenses, which give even better results thanks to the built-in image stabilization. The camera fits well in the hand and the controls can be adjusted to your own preference.

The burst rate and the number of autofocus points are both sufficient but have to be inferior to the competition, which makes the camera less attractive for sports. On the other hand, the performance at higher ISO values allows for beautiful images in particularly low light and the Pixel Shift mode gives very good results with static subjects.
