After a long time of doubt : buy used Nikon 105mm or new Tamron 90mm, I chose Tamron. And so far I don't regret it for a second. Bought for production and macro photography with FF Nikon D750. Alternatives used : Sigma 105mm, Nikon 60mm, Nikon 105mm. Sturdy and elegant body. This is Tamron's most complete 90mm version. The 1st came in 1979. This is the 10th. And so far is the best. A super reliable and sturdy construction. Well-fitting and sturdy sun canopy. Lens is nice and heavy and fits well in hand. Very fast and correct autofocus system works silently. No last of chromatic observation. My photos are sharp even with open aperture. Due to the brightness and optical stabilizer, it is good to use in dark conditions. Very nice and soft bocke. Lens also delivers excellent results for portrait photography. In my opinion Tamron 90mm is the closest competitor to Nikon 105mm but price-wise it is more interesting than Nikon.
